Fable 2 or Saint's Row 2

Is that really a question?

Fable 2...a likely-to-be-revolutionary game which is a massive rpg which will incorporate online co-op play

or

Saints Row 2...a GTA knock off that will not have anywhere near the replay value

Okay, I have traded in most of my games, because the lineup for this month is killer, including Farcry 2 and Fallout 3. Then Gears 2 to kick off November. But I am having a delima, what will be better in the long run, Fable 2 or SR2? Farcry, Fallout and Gears are all paid for, but only one can be baught from either Fable or SR. Any suggestions?gunslinger_boy

Wow man, I have the exact same dilemma you do. I'm already set on Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3, but since my budget is tight, I can't decide on whether to get Saints Row 2 or Fable 2 either. Right now I'm leaning towards Saints Row 2, since I don't really want to have to worry about two RPGs at one time, but I'm wanting Fable 2 because I somewhat liked the first one, and it looks really promising. I'll eventually own both games, but if I had to decide right now which to get first I would probably go with Saints Row 2.

I would say Fable 2 b/c i have not played a Saints Row game yet (I've heard it's very repetitive). Fable is a better game to me also b/c i like the RPG type game and the fact that you start with a young version of yourself and it allows you to grow your character however you want makes me like that personalization ( Unlike the pre-set in game character in other games). Fable 2 hands down/ You get a dog as a companion/ Now if that ain;t cool that i don't know what is.

Err? At least put I think or something as in an opinion. Saints Row 2 isn't glitchy nor poorly developed and quite different than GTA. I personally find it more fun than GTA although GTA does own in graphics.

I'd rather have Saints Row 2. I'll likely have more fun in co-op with it and I'm still mad about all the lies told for the first Fable. Also if Fable 2 is anything like the first story wise, Saints Row 2 will have a better story.Legolas_Katarn

I will get flamed for this but fable 2 looks pretty bad just like most RPGS its dull but theres tons to do but SR2 has tons on offer and guess what its all gonna be fun to do.

Actually the no co-op out the box is Lionheads fault....either way I'm picking up Fable 2, I want SR2 but Ill wait til after I get the other games coming later this season....too many to put that one towards the top of my list

The answer is simple If you want a sequel to the above average (but no better) Saints Row buy that. If however you want a sequel to one of the game industry's biggest disappointments since Enter The Matrix buy Fable 2.

Molyneux with his false promises again. Online Coop wont even be playable out of the box. That's even more of a fail then when Too Human went from 4 player to 2.Mau-Justice

I agree **** Fable 2 I've never played all I know is that u can marry other dudes kinda **** up but yea. Saints row 2 is a knock off but saints row is a little more faster paced than GTA 4... in my opinion. Saints Row 2...It isn't a GTA rip-off. It's just the same concept (open-world, gangster storyline). The actually games themselves play different and all the things i've seen on Saints Row 2 are making me very excitied for this game.

Either way though, you can't go wrong. Both are going to be soild titles.

Ok, explain to me how saints rips off GTA? Are we not allowed more than one urban open world sand box game? Saints 2 takes the gta formula and packs way more content than any GTA out there. Its called quantity over quality, only in this case saints still adds great quality. Just read about saints row 2, it has 10x the replay value than GTA 4 and adds way more fun to the concept.

Anyways, ill be getting both but saints row first.

You didn't read what I wrote. I said Fable was a disappointment. I said Black and White was a disappopintment. I said that The Movies was a disappointment. I, in no way, made any kind of judgement on what Fable 2 will or will not include. I simply stated that Lionhead have a habit of feeding the hype machine until it can't take any more and then shipping disappointing final products.

After watching many videos, most actions dont even have animations (shooting basketballs, getting in cars, etc), and the graphics are pretty poor. I cant wait to jump out of the levels with my friends online, cause you know it will be easy to! :lol:

Yeah, and GTA had perfect graphics. But it was boring...I still haven't beat it, everytime I play it I feel like I'm having to force myself to. I'm loving the custimazation on Saints Row 2 though, great fun :P

You don't even know enough about the game to say the things you have. I was the same too, until I read about it. It has A TON of replay value and I really can't wait to play it. It has so many mini-games and the customization is insane.

I guess Fable I is a rip off of Morrowind than...since they both have magic spells, are open world sandbox games, and are set around the same time period. That is basically what your saying about Saints Row compared to GTA.
