The game is really easy but still really fun. I can't say that the difficulty is ruining the experience of the game. And as the other guy said, I don't know about short. I've been playing for quite a while just doing side quest and it's a nice length in my opinion. I haven't even become king.
I loved Fable 1 and Fable 2, but Fable 3 in my opinion is a let down i have completed it already i dont care about the side quest i love the main story and it was really to short they made the game out to be amazing and it was until you kill the final boss in a few minutes sorry but a serious let down :/
I completed the main story in just under 7 hours, but now im going back doing all the side quests, buying real estate and starting families. basically all the stuff your meant to do on fable ;). Ive put in another 3 hours and im still not bored, i guess i find slaughtering eveyone in albion fun too! its a shame the people take so long to respawn... i only have guards left in bowerstone and i must have broken into everyone building about 5 times over. At least i have loads of good weapons, outfits and furniture :)
In terms of difficulty i do find it quite easy. There are some moments you are somewhat tested but otherwise its a breeze. If you want to have a bit of difficulty do the evil thing *spoiler!* and destroy the nitrate torches in the village when you need the statue thing. Now my mistpeak vally and millfields are empty of bandits and wolves they are instead infested with balverines! Not only is it difficult but you get a lot of guild seals for killing them :D
Well, I beat it with the best possible, good outcome (6.5 mil in treasury, kept all promises) in 2 days, but it was still good. If your'e looking for something with diffuculty, i'd buy something else, but it's really fun. The Fable series has always been laidback so I would not criticize it for being easy or short. Also, that's just counting one playthrough.
Definitely the easiest of the three games so far. Fable 3 was more like an interactive movie, still great to watch and entertaining but there was little challenge to completing the game which made it far less dramatic. I enjoyed it, but in the end I was a little let down as none of the game presented much of a challenge.
