Fable II - first episode is free on the Marketplace.

After much confusion in this thread, here is the FINAL EDIT: It is just the first episode that is free, and you have to pay for the rest after you progress and then they will appear on the Marketplace.

Quoting a guy in this post: you can buy it on a disk, via Games On Demand or the first Chapter is free (and the rest you have to pay for) via chapters. :)

No, the game is not free

The first installment of the episodic system is free, as it has always been

It has been fixed now, atleast on my xbox.

Theres 5 installments, the first one has always been free. The rest you have to buy.

The games on demand (that says £20) has the exact same description as the one that is free. And the people that told me that they have downloaded it and they have all of the achievements (well, not unlocked but I mean they are all in the game history thing ready to unlock)???

its always been free, its the first installment of the game in episodic form, u download the first of 5 installments for free, then once you get to the end of the first episode you pay to download the second and then you pay to download the third at the end of that, etc etc

eventually if you play through and pay to unlock all the episodes you will have the full game, its been like this for years

but as of today you can also download the full agme in one go from games on demand, its just different ways of buying, what in the end is exactly the same thing

you can purchase fable 2 in 3 ways,

• on a disk
• from games on demand
• from the marketplace in episodic form
