ok so i have yet to pick a lock in fallout 3 i broke like 6 bobby pins trying to do so lol i just dont get what they want me to do. do you thrust the screwdriver when you feel resistence on the bobby pin? or will you hear a click? thx

You have to move the bobby pin to a certain spot, then try the screwdriver. If it jams, move the bobby pin again to a different spot until you are able to turn the lock all the way sideways.

Also, you can tell if you are close to the right spot or not by how much you can turn the screwdriver before the bobbypin starts to shake. For example if you can turn it half way through then you know you are pretty close, while if you can only turn it a little bit then you know you are pretty far off.

Once you put the pin in, turn very lightly. The more pressure you use, the quicker the pin will break. So be easy with it. If it starts rumbling, stop touching everything and move the bobby pin elsewhere and try again. That means there's pressure and the pin is going to break.
