Fallout: New Vegas is just sorta a 'side project' you could call it, not something that's a full fledged sequal to Fallout 3. To me though, it's too early for a Fallout 4 announcement.
Same here, New Vegas peeked my interest when I found out a lot of old members from Interplay was working on the game. This new Vegas Fallout seemed to come out of left field. Still, I'm interested and I can't wait to play it.
RCGV
this isnt a sports game or a FPS they can spit out once a year
its a full fledged RPG and its gonna take more then 6 months to get word on a sequel
It will prob be a while b4 fallout new vegas comes out.I would think that TESOV would be out first, and that would take alot of time to do.But if they have contracted some guys from interplay to help in the game, maybe not as long.I say take their time and make a great game, not a rush job.
Just to make it clear, Fallout New vegas is being developed by Obsidian, which houses many members of the former Black Isle studios, who made Fallout 1 and 2. This is fairly exciting, and if its being biuilt using Bethesda's resources and engine, this is doubly exciting as it is the best of both worlds.
I doubt New Vegas will be just a 'side project' or a throwaway half game- with the engine already built, and Im sure Obsidian already has a complete story in mind(after all they did start making their own fallout 3 a couple years back) Im sure this will be a quality game. It is exciting.
All the while, we also have Bethesda next Fallout entry to look forward to as well. Sweet.
The next Fallout game won't look like Fallout 3, it'll have a engine similar to Resident Evil 5's engine i'm guessing and will be more like Fallout 1,2 than the 3rd IMO.
What in the world would make you think it will have an engine like RE5? That makes no sense.
If we look at Obsidian's other games sequels, like KOTOR II, they used the same engine as the original, albeit tweaked. And when I did do a search, there were numerous sources saying it will be using the same engine. Now thats not a sure thing at this point, but I am fairly certain that since bethesda approached them, and is publishing the game, and its due out next year...It would be a pretty good guess that they would be using the same engine, rather than building their own or using the one from...RE5.
Can't wait. I love obsidians writing/storytelling. Its definitely their strong suit.
