Far Cry 2...not impressed. (possible spoliers)

I've played it, tried the map editor, played a little multiplayer...im not impressed. Of course I know this is my opinion but like many I was extremely hyped for the game. Once I got it though it was lack luster. It doesn't have anything that stands out. Nothing real innovative. The gameplay is pretty dull, it's more or less the same as the previous Far Cry with updated graphics and an open world. The whole open world subject is blown out of proportion. You really can't go every where, there are "restricted zones" that if you go into you will get attacked by the entire village.

Another problem I have with it is that my guy has a disease and I need to keep getting pills to keep it under control or else he faints and I go back to the standard safe house. The story isn't very engaging to me and the map editor is kinda frustrating because of the camera. The multiplayer is rinse and repeat formula of the last game. The game just isn't all that fun. Im really disapointed in it and glad I didn't dish out 60 bucks for it.

I was never impressed with multilayer in Far Cry, which is why im not surprised...

Was it at least a little fun starting fires or blowing up houses?

One question, are you able to hunt animals?... Don't ask why but I just wanted to know :)

Yes you can kill animals and you can start fires. The graphics and visuals overall are amazing but as far as weapons go, you really have to work for them. Which isn't a bad thing depending on who you are.

You can try and kill the villiagers but, from my experience it's pretty hard to kill a group. I had a shotgun and I shot a guy in the chest at least 3 or 4 times before he died, and this was almost point blank range.

Haha yeah I don't let my guys do that, nor do I. I will give my opinion if they ask but I won't ever tell some one to buy a game (the only exception for that is Vampire Rain).

I feel the same way about it. It really isn't as good as I was hoping for it to be. MP is really boring. SP is only boring because you have to travel so much. Its not like the game looks bad. It looks amazing. It just gets dull after awhile.

Between Dead Space and Far Cry 2, i'd pick Dead Space because of the gameplay. I know it doesn't have the longevity that FC2 has but it deffiantly is worth 60 dollars imo.

As far as not playing the original Far Cry or Crysis that doesn't matter, it doesn't really follow the previous game FC1.

And no offence taken. I know my Giants are the best in the NFC :P

Haha I feel the same way. The misisons are bland too. It's like "Go here, kill these people, drive here, kill these people, drive here, save that person".

i wouldn't recommend it....it feels like a chore really but if you played it right , it'll be fun ..really fun , but i'd say fable 2 is better.XxSTILL_BORNxX

Imo for FPS'. If you played one, you've played them all. I only buy FPS' if they have a good story and or great multiplayer. Far Cry to me, has neither.
