Turned it on today to eject GTA 4 and got the 3 red lights. It had a good run from launch until now. But, with tragedy comes joy because now I justify the MW2 special edition.

You're a moron... The PS3 has it's own set of problems, YLOD being one of them. And this is coming from someone who owns both systems (and has had to fix both systems after the warranty ran out). I'd much rather the 360, shoddy construction and all, then use my PS3. But, that's a system wars debate, and I digress. To the TC, why buy a new one? Why does anyone buy a new one? Replacing the x-clamps costs about 12 - 15 bucks, and it's easy enough for anyone to do. The best part? It works almost every time. If not, you're not out anything, since the system is stuffed already. Look into it, and give it a try.
