FEAR or The Darkness?

The Darkness has better story, atmosphere, characters.

While FEAR has better shoot outs and better online.

Overall i enjoyed The Darkness more, just because i enjoyed the story so much, and was very addicted to it until i finished it. And even then i wanted to rip thru the game a 2nd time.

I think The Darkness singleplayer is one of the most underrated FPS out there.

While FEAR is fun and nice graphics, i didnt get as addicted to it as The Darkness

What he said. If you want your typical snoozer generic shooter, go with Fear. If you want a good immersive, different take on it with an amazing story than go with The Darkness.

They're very different titles - The Darkness is a bit more rich in detail and immersive; but FEAR is a creepfest unlike any other game (great at 2 am with the lights off). I found The Darkness to be easier to beat (FEAR can be a pain sometimes) and both boast excellent graphics. You really can't go wrong with either title.FleshTone

The scare tactics in Fear were awesome, I just didn't like the shooter aspect of it. I'd say Fear would feel a little more dated playing back through it now, than the Darkness.

agree get fear its pritty scary game to play.

The darkness was a much better experience.However its multiplayer is the worst ever.FEARs multiplayer is not all that ether though.

The Darkness is not even close to what F.E.A.R is, The darkness has a good story but aside from that, it sucks really bad, FEAR on the other hand, earned many awards as the best PC FPS of the year, and it has reaally good scary moments, also the action feels like an action movie, you enter a room, toss a grenade, wait for the explosion and activate the wired reflexes, do a flying kick to the nearest enemy, then draw your shotgun and blast the remaining bastards in the room! then relax while the enormous red cloud of blood and dust disappear, believe me, i bought the darkness like 2 weeks after its release, 1 week later i got bored.

Dont listen to these Darkness fanboys TC, i've been playing games since DOOM and i know what a good FPS is, i also recommed you to play Condemned 1 and 2, they're good games of the same developer of F.E.A.R.great_rulo

Well you've heard all the opinions by now so there you have it. If you want an challenging shooter than get F.E.A.R.

If you want to a st8 forward shooter with a little twist (demon powers) and a great story (one of the best on 360) get the Darkness.

I also agree with everyone else that the Darkness is a severly underrated game! Wait until you go into a bathroom and look in the mirror then turn your powers on. OMG! Dude looks sick!

They're fanboys because all the arguments are nonsense, cmon! good gameplay? good level design? interesting plot? the only good thing in The Darness is the story, even so, the ending sucked, all the reviewers noticed it, F.E.A.R is old but its not like that makes it bad, Cstlevania: SOTN has outdated graphics but its still one of the best PSX games.great_rulo

Story/Good Guns/Demon Powers/Minions

besides the scare tactics in Fear being awesome, the whole game was a generic shooter to me. Felt like I had already played the game before. Dying in some of the stupid hallucinations is just frustrating. Dying to something you can't even kill, pfft.

Same here. I was playing before there were arcades. Had to go to a store that had Pong along with the pinball machines:P

The darkness looks prettier and more cinematic but FEAR is the better FPS.

Both are pretty average by todays standards though, buy for cheap or not at all is my advice...
