(poll only semi related, post your real answers)

What features do you want to see more of that seem to get ignored by most developers?

Personally, I'm pretty disappointed that map editors are so rare. By map editor, I mean editors that actually allow you to make your own maps in detail(i.e. Far Cry 2's editor). Also, semi related, I'd like to see more multiplayer mode editors. There's next to none right now(aside from Halo 3's 'meh' one).

It's obviously map editor...the other features are in all the AAA titles.

The poll is not meant to be the only answers, I just added it for the hell of it. Probably should have put that in my post.

I'd love to see more map editors. A map editor in Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2, and Assassin's Creed 2 would be great. Just imagine in AC2, being able to build your own cities and uploading your designs for others to download and mess with. It'd be pretty great.

In that case we also need more character customization as well, Its funny because I thought next gen was gonna be a lot more detailed with the way features were implemented. I thought with current technology that we would be able to customize any character in a video game on the fly.

Customizable Controls

Why is it that so few games have real control mapping? The Orange Box and Unreal Tournament are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. What's with this backwards-ass "You vill play zee game our vay!" BS? It's not like this is a major programming challenge. I get annoyed having to learn different buttons for every shooter, and I get really annoyed when a shooter I'm playing has dumb buttons for the default controls.

Custom controls and stories that don't suck. Also splitscreen. Me and my friends can only take so much Halo 3 splitscreen.

TBH it depends completely what genre it is. In driving games split-screen has all but disappeared, and I love map editing in Halo so I wish shooters had that. Co-Op campaign is also sorely missing from CoD 4. And in open-worlders it's character customisation. But single-player length is the big thing I think most shooters, and even driving games lack. Forza Motorsport 3 is one of my favourite games because offline lasts a long time and is tuned exactly to my skill, whereas online I get crushed everytime. Halo 3 is my favourite single-player shooter because of the length and enemy AI.

Personally, i must say all of the above...

All are needed and to be honest they come in too short supply in todays gaming community.

The only game i have played with a good map editor is Far Cry 2 but the problem with that is the gameplay was terrible. R6V2 probably ticked most of the boxes with its P.E.C (Personal Elite Creation), Split-Screen, Co-Op play... but why can't we have a game where one box ticks all...

Splitscreen. Today there's so many games that don't support it.

As much as I like co-op campaign i think the games it is in is good. I would like to see a much more divese online character customization for games like MW2. It would be awesome if you could choose what your guy wore and stuff (hats, glasses, pants, shirts, maybe even bulletproof vests etc).

Games still lack online campaign co-op or it's watered down.

So not only do you want MW2 to use the same weapons as R6V2 but know you want them to have the same character customisation. You might as well just buy R6V2 as it is now only like £17....

Except the game mechanics are completely opposite... and the lack of Kill streaks, perks, weapon attachments, camos etc.

I chose split screen, although the one thing I really wish they had more of in games was the ability to add bots to play with in multiplayer. Sometimes I don't feel like putting up with all the annoying humans who play on xbox live. I WANT MY BOTS!!!!!!!!!!

Online stat tracking. I love checking my stats on bungie.net, and I wish that all online games had comprehensive online stat tracking.

Bots in multiplayer modes. Games this gen like Perfect Dark, Perfect Dark Zero, Haze, Gears of War 2, and Killzone 2 had them, and before you say bots are dumb, play against the ones in Killzone 2 and Perfect Dark then.

What I don't understand is why every multiplayer oriented game doesn't have bots ? Oh ! I know why, because people won't go on XBOX Live and then they will start to lose profit (Microsoft). Gears Of War 2 had it right.

Offline Multiplayer (Bots)

A theater mode similar to halo would be lovely, i don't know how many times i did something that i would have liked to have recorded but wasn't recording.

Character customization is always a fun feature to have.

Ah, this too. There's no reason games should not have decent stat-tracking.

I understand that I mainly play FPS but seriously, why can't I for the life of me change my character's clothing, tactical armor, etc... It not only makes me feel a little bit more connected to my online counter-part but it promotes people to do more to gain different clothing. Instead of titles why didn't they add gear? I would work my fingers off to get a new vest, hat, gloves, etc... More games need to give gamers the ability to customize their characters.

Really though, best idea on here. I'd be more stoked for games like Bad Company 2 if it had COD controls. COD has amazing controls for what they make you use, but being able to customize controls entirely would be so useful.

one of PC's best features.

So true. Call of Duty 4 has the best controller set up I've ever played with. Sometimes it doesn't even feel as if I have a controller in my hands.

And you know, it's not like this would be hard. How much development time would it take to add one menu where you change the control mapping? Nearly effortless.

I would take this over almost anything else. A bit like how pictures and video cameras have enabled us to 'keep' treasured memories, a replay system in games would allow us to not lose those great gaming moments that are lost forever without this.

And I'm not talking about just multiplayer matches(where it would obviously find the most use), but also for single-player.

I know its not easy and all, but Halo really showed us something special with their replay theater and I'm always left scratching my head why other games haven't caught on.

Bots would be good.

The main thing for me is split-screen and network play at the same time.

At the moment the only game that seems to offer this is Halo 3 and I could do with more variety when playing with mates round someone's house.
