Hey, I have a friend who might be selling his old Xbox 360 Premium pack to me for £150. (Which by GBP standards is pretty good!) The reason for this is because he now has an Elite. He said, I'll get everything but the free month GOLD membership thingy. Anywho, I haven't said yes yet, so I thought I'd hear from you guys. His Xbox 360 is a replacement which got sent to him, after his first one died. So, couple of questions:

1) Is it worth it?

2) Is this replacement likely to "die" on me?

3) Would the warranty be in his name? And how does the warranty work?

4) If all is good: Game choices? (Apart from the obvious Halo 3, Gears of War and Bioshock)

5) Any other tips? I.e Accessory recommendations, etc.

There has been a pirce drop recently, it's something like £180 for a core, I think.
You should check it out on the web or something. I'm sure your mate wouldn't try and do you down by seeling you a busted 360 though.

There are tonssss of games to choose from dude, just go for what interests you, and you'll find something in that genre.

Have fun

1) How much does that calculate to, US? If it's about $150 or less, I'd say go for it. A replaced 360 is less likely to melt down. Though it is still possible.

2.) See above.

3.) Yes. It's through Microsoft and it covers shipping, repairs, etc for 3 years from the purchase date of the console.

4.) Tons of really good games. Check out gamerankings.com, click on "The Rankings", enter Xbox 360 in the platform catagory, and put theresult total to 20. You'll find 20 great games.

5.) Don't go outside barefoot when it's raining, you could catch a cold.

1) Hell yes 2) If hes a good friend he wouldn't be trying to screw you over. if it does break though, you can get it replaced 3) I'm pretty sure you just need to give the manufacturing date and serial number to get it replaced. and of course the address. 4) I can't recommend games unless I know what you like :P 5) get the rechargeable battery pack accessory. It will save you money in the long run.

Hm. I may have to recommend he buy a new one, then. Or ask his friend to lower the price. For an extra $100, he could get a brand new machine, a new 3 year warranty in his name, etc.

1. Yeah for starters it is worth it. If you plan on buying a lot of games and downloading plenty of items off the marketplace then I would start saving up for the 120gb HDD. The 20gb fills up pretty fast if you have a lot of games and download tons of stuff.

2. The replacement is less likely to die, but that doesn't mean it won't die.

3. Not sure about whose name the warranty would be under and yes the warranty works atleast for the Red Rings of Light problem. It is secure for another 3 years.

4. TESIV: Oblivion, PGR 3 or PGR 4, Rainbow Six: Vegas, G.R.A.W. 2, Lost Planet, Forza Motorsport 2, Fifa 08, Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, and plenty of others.

5. Wireless headset if you can. The clarity and qaulity is a lot better. Quick charge kit. That should be it.

A new premium for him would be around $500-$600. He doesn't live in the U.S.A. where everything is cheap compared to others. Then again the dollar is worth jack sh!t right now.

But you are forgetting this is "Rip-off Britain" its about £249 for new Premium XBox 360. (Just under $500)

1) Yes, it's worth it.

2) Probably not, especially if it's a newer replacement. Just make sure that you keep it well ventilated.

3) Sorry, no idea.

4) Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, still my favorite 360 game

5) Make sure that if you have a wireless controller, to buy either a charging dock or play and charge kit, both work great. (P.S.: Do NOT buy the Nyko Cooling Fan)

Thankies, 120Gb HDD costs £129 so maybe in the future. (Considering I get the Xbox)

The sound quality on the wireless headset is better? I had no idea, I may have to check it out.

Hmm. Annoying thought. Still undecided.

Could get Core for £25 more... Gah! Difficult choice.

Just because it's new it doesn't mean it won't break. I'd say the better deal is with your friend.

Thats a good offer cause then you still get the 3 year warranty (less if hes had it a long time)
