I enjoyed the demo of fifa 08 more than pes 08 as you can change the camera so you are more behind the player and playing pes 08 was just like player last years pes, at least fifa fealt more refined than last years outting. With that said the gameplay did feel smoother with the running and stuff unlike fifa where I found myself losing the ball more easily because I couldn't get the guy to move right. So while I did enjoy the demo of fifa more(mostly playing the pre-game bit), pes will most like be the better gaming experience in the long run even though it's ugly as sin.

If you want amazing gameplay, a fluid control system and a great physics engine, go for Pro evo.

If you want a great career, easy gameplay and goals from the halfway line, FIFA is for you.

I'd choose Pro Evo every time, and though it may not have many new features, you're insured an enjoyable match every time. Wouldn't mind a decent career mode though.

Every Year it's the same simple choice for me, PES comes first then i normally buy Fifa later, then trade Fifa in cos i realise how poor the gameplay is opposed to PES. On the Demos though been really impressed with the PES graphics this year, they have actually supassed Fifa IMO!

The PES demo is on the EU market place. you can DL it if you make a dummy EU account.:)

PES 08 is a bit faster paced than 07 and a lot faster paced than FIFA 08 which makes it feel a bit arcady imo. But i don't really mind that what i do mind is the goalies in the demo are dumb as heck.

They keep making noob mistakes by punching out balls they should catch, a lot of goals come from those mistakes. It almost seems like goalie stats don't make any difference, and i played the demo on the hardest difficulty.

This is the first year since ages that I'm getting both PES 08 and Fifa at full price. I usually wait with FIFA till it's a greatest hits game. I think they both have different things to offer this year. I love the PRO cam in FIFA and cant wait for the new on-line modes in that. Also it makes a world of difference when you play the game with all the controll options set to manual, it's like a completely differnt game. With everything set to auto it plays just like regular FIFA, but with every thing manual it plays more like PES has in the past that FIFA.

But for Pro I'm looking forward to the new Master league, and the AI supposedly learns your tactics so you'll have to switch them up even against the CPU. Of-course there is no way you can find out if that works from just playing exhibition games in the demo but it could be cool if it works.:D

I'm getting both for sure!

I'm a big footie fan and both games have their pros and cons, but i'll say i enjoy more FIFA and i find more replayability anyways to play online Fifa is by far more popular in the US, while in Europe PES (winning eleven) is very popular.

Lol you obviosly odnt know what you are talking about... I play pro evo and pro evo is less prone to shootingfreekicks from halfway-line...and scoring isnt hard....(I play with capability full RED RED)

I've been playing the PES demo. There are a few worrying things in the game. Has anyone else noticed that occasionally when you run with the ball from midfield, the opposition team just parts and lets you run right through on goal? Happened half a dozen or so times when I was playing it.

Also, whenever there is a scramble for the ball in the box, the keepers just dive around, nowhere near gettingthe ball, looking ridiculous. I don't like how you have to wait for the refs whistle before you take a goal kick, corner, free-kick or whatever. I mean, I realise that's what happens in real football, but it's total nonsense having to wait 5 seconds while the computer ref blows his whistle. I found it really irritating.

Apart from the game being sped up, I haven't noticed too much difference from last year. It is difficult to tell in 5 minute games, but none of the faults that have always been therehave been touched. I think Konami have become very lazy the last few years. Not sure I'm going to buy it, for the first time since ISS on the N64.

FIFA 08 is the most realistic football game ever, I'll explain why.

At first i didnt like this Demo, thinking it was slow, Stiff and had poorer graphics.
I played it time and time again and realised so many things.

The game isnt slow, when the game starts each player gets a feel of the ball and gains momentum as each individual gets a touch. Each player speeds up with the ball, building momentum they same way a car does, they don't automaticaly go from 0mph to 35mph in 1 seconds.

Each player is an individual within their category.
Defenders dribble slower than midfielders and are built to mark, tackle best and defend.
Midfielders have better dribbling pace & speed, and handle tricks alot better.
Strikers have more powerful shots, a very fast sprinting pace when in stride.
Players have realistic energy and cant sprint from one side of the pitch to the other and not slow down, like on PES. (PES doesnt even have an energy bar)

The Ai is extremely authentic and smart
Each player lives up to the 1000 thoughts per second per player, Defenders dont bunch up by attacking 1 player with 3 men like PES, they realise danger and block goal threats. Players do not stray out of position or regulary leave marked men.
Goalkeepers very realistic showing they are aware of everything and keep realistic positioning knowing when to come forward or back off.

Physics.
Each player has full 360° Movement Where as PES has only has 16 Directional movements.
The ball has its own animation and physics, enabling it to go anywhere on a body, goal/netting or pitch.
Players can clash in anyway possible, and cannot run through eachother like PES 08. Tackles are authentic and player falls are so realistic, PES 08 Tackles are very hard and falls looks computer animated instead of digitally captured. nearly all player movements look 100% real including turns/tricks/running/tackles and more. passing is good and foot movements are great.

Graphics are very good in the demo, but i think they will be 10% better in the retail version.

Everything i said is what happens in the real football and within fifa 08, that being said the pace for the game is perfect. you will realise when you play it again.
people need to look past what they are used not switch it off in two seconds because its not the same as PES, Fact is, its better! It is so much more real.
You cant shoot from the half way like and its hard to get passed players. just try it.
PES is Fake and too fast, its graphics and physics are very poor its so much of an arcade game its not playable, Konami have taken a step backwards since coming onto the next gen market, PES looks like a PSP game or something for the wii.
I was a PES FAN, now Im FIFA.
Im Only buying FIFA 08 This Year

Fifa Isnt slow, its realistic. You have to build up play and momentum, just like real life, You watch a football match and see how they move i assure u they move 95% like fifa and 0% pro
