IMO your wrong. Its such an amazing game. But i have all 3 systems so i guess exclusives dont matter, but for JUST 360 owners, i think theyre missing out. biglewiss
Just a quick note, I have never played any of the MGS games before but i just played through about thirty minutes of campaign in mgs (25 min had to be cutscenes which i have no problem with) but my first impression is that we 360 owners arnt missing anything, the gunplay feels kind of awkward and not as specific as i would like it to be, the cover system is just akward, controls are just wierd, Im going to give it a chance but as of now is dosent seem like were missing anything.HeroxOfxThexDay
youre probably having trouble playing the game because you have your 360 fanboy goggles on. Take them off, and you'll realize the games a masterpiece. Also, im assuming you went into game lookin to bash everything you saw, so obviously yod have complaints

i've always been a long term 360 fan but i dont have bias when it comes to a game regardless of the console it's. when a game is amazing, it IS amazing, look past the brand name and actually look at the game itself.

actually no i didnt i knew the game was good and i went in having high hopes with it, the game felt wierd but so does every game, and i mean i can see how you would think that, im kind of a 360 fanboy but i always love a good game, i just dont love sony, but mgs4 is a really really good game, its pretty much up there with gta4, gears and zelda with me so far, its really good once you get used to it, game looks good, controls well (i hate how you cant jump up most of the times though) and the story is told very very very well (selling point of the game so far)
Of course you say that, you're a 360 owner. Whether you actually thought that or not your subconscious would tell you that it sucks.ck02623
no.. nice try though, i love the game,
MGS4 has terrific boss battles. Each boss battle requires different elements of combat to beat the boss (ie. cleverness, heavy offense, stealth...) Also, it really takes more than one play through to truly appreciate MGS4. MGS4 really is a game that gets more fun as you raise the difficulty. Playing on extreme, the game's hardest setting, requires an entirely different mindset than playing the game on normal. Replay value is high because of all the unlockables. The game is made in such a way that you can beat the game without taking a single life.
Multiplayer works excellent after a rather lengthy registration and has many players of different skill levels to play against with fun game modes.
MGS4 isn't like GoW where you are rutted into a single way of accomplishing things and isn't like Crysis where the action comes in short bursts between long travel periods. It truly is one hell of a game. I cannot even begin to describe the complex plot and twists involved with the games plot. It even touches on current events putting you in the shoes of insurgents and showing you what it is like to fight a faceless powerful corportation.
I can't even sufficiently explain how good MGS4 is without drawing from the first 3 PS2 games and the two NES games. However, if you have a PS2 I highly suggest buying the Metal Gear Solid Essential Collection and playing through. 3 games for 30 USD is a very good deal considering the caliber of these games.

Not every 360 owner is interested but those who like similiar games are missing out, but that might all change. FF13 going multiplat is the beginning of a shift in the market, many developers have to seriously rethink their strategy.
why do people bash games on other systems its so pointless because if it comes to their system their like "omg we have it"
i think mgs4 looks fantastic but sadly i cant afford a ps3 right now i sold it ages ago at launch but will buy at the end of 2008 to play mgs4 gt5 prologue etc.

your lucky you have a ps3 to play it but once i see a cheap ps3 ill buy it and see what mgs4 is like.

i thought he was joking with the muhahahahah lol but seriously seemed like a joke.
The first one was right I am a xbox 360 fan boy lol seriously some things i do hate about xblock 360, but yer im a xbox360 fan boy least i can admit it and proudly so, and what!.. doesnt change the fact metal gear solid suxs hard and zero punctuation said so, who cares what he said, not my problem. I cant afford a ps3 so i cant play metal gear so thats another reason coz sony is suckers fool. This is just my first impression of metal gear btw.pupu_07

To each his own. I've had a 360 since 2006 and have a decent amount of games but I got a deal on the Playstation 3/ Metal Gear Package so I got that now. After playing and beating the game I can honestly say that if you've never played a Metal Gear Game then it will be a decent experience. That being said, PS3 does not have a abundant amount of good 1st or 3rd person shooter games, but 360 got plenty. I found MGS4 long, over bloated and boring. I found myself constantly fighting myself to stay engaged with the game and plot, fighting myself to NOT turn it off and start playing GTA4 on my 360. Essentially it is just like every other Metal Gear Game. It is not new. Not innovative. If you like Metal Gear, than kudos for you. But if you got a 360 and don't have it, you really are not missing anything. Really. Keep playing Mass Effect, Halo, & Call of Duty 4. Believe me you will get more out of it.phearless
I am exactly in the same boat....well, the difference is im not completely done the game...and im not sure if i care to finish it. I've never played a MGS game before this, so that may be the reason for my dis-interest. Im in the middle of act 3, at that point i started playing MGO...kept me interested for 3 days...i havent gone back to the game since...other games have come along and pulled me away.
It's not that its a bad game...i think its probably the most well polished and visually stunning game on any console. BUT, as mentioned above...the gameplay kept me from loving it and driving me to finish it. Yes, the story held me close...but i guess not close enough.

yeah, but the sad part was i didnt want the ps3 my dad picked one up because he wanted a blu ray, the game looks really good, but the other sad thing is i dont think the ps3 will see much light because all the other games are on 360 and more of my friends own 360's

Interesting, the wierd thing is, us 360 owners like short quick burst of action, thats the one thing that made me put down the game was knowing that its a long road ahead, we look more into multiplayer, like i love long games trust me, just i mean i can understand how getting into the game at the fourth game isnt that smart so im looking for the rest of the storyline on the internet, so i can fully enjoy it...
