not true. some cant pass the requirements test the system places on each unit when it formats it. not all work but most modern name brand ones do. your probably safe with the kingston but i would think twice about it and search around for an answer unless you can use it for other things if it doesnt work. Ive had good luck with any pny i use but my friends new slim system wont recognize one of them. I dont know if the slim has a higher test for them or a different way of testing them.

Like kit said, no. Some USB flash drives have transfer rates that are too low for the 360, and it won't let you format and use them. The risk-free thing to do is to buy the official drive, or buy a drive with a relatively high transfer rate. SanDisk makes the official drive, so a SanDisk USB drive is another safe choice.

I'll probably go with a sandisk then, the official drives cost too much to be worth the price.

I'm thinking it should be alright. If I'm correct, the 360 is compatible with all flash drives, but I think there's a size requirement. Also, if I'm correct, you have to format the flash drive when you first plug it into your system.

Get a decent one, though, just to be sure it meets the transfer rate requirements (I wish I knew what they were).

Does anyone know what the requirements are? I stuck an external hard drive on my 360, and formatted it, but it said it didn't meet the requirements. It allowed me to use it though.
