Sooo I've been looking all over the place and it says that Forza Motorsports 2 is to be released on May 29th, 2007. Well today is May 29th and I went into Best Buy to pick up a copy but they told me it won't be out until tomorrow...Which will be May 30th.

Did I miss something? I haven't seen anywhere about a delay. I could maaaaybe see if they are saying May 29th at 12 o'clock midnight but why wouldn't they just say May 30th?

I'm also seeing people on the scoreboards on Forza's website...Is this just the Japan players?

Can anyone help me out with this confusion?

The release date is the shipping date. That's the day the game is "released," but 99% of the time (depending on your geographical location) you can't get it until shipments come in the next day.

i guess you are n00b in this case.  anyways, games always come out the day after the release date. Only on certain instances they will have a midnight release which is still technically the next day of the release date.

Not sure why you would need to call me a "n00b" but thank you anyways. And thank you Staryoshi87 for just explaining it to me instead of putting in your random personal opinion of other people.

You're wrong. The only delays caused by memorial day are the lack of reviews for the two games in question. The almost always SHIP on the release date. Some stores get them on that same day if they are close to the shipper's location.

Staryoshi87

wrong

 Release date = release date.

Everytime a game has come out I've walkd in walmart that day and got it.  This is different though, memorial day caused a delay for everyone, though certain places that are closest to the warehouses did get them today

Yea I would agree. But games have been lagging with there release dates. Lately Wednesday has been the day when for years games released on Tuesdays just like CD's.

Midnight on May 29th would have been this morning...

You are getting confused with the shipping date....games arrive in stores a day later, often times.

This is one of my main annoyances with the gaming industry. Before you think this is a rant here me out. A good friend of mine works at Gamestop. He is the manager.  Crackdown was released in Feb  (cant remember the exact date). Prior to the game being released, I called him while he was at work to see if w were still going to go drinking. He advised me yea but he had to finsih locking all the new arrival games in the safe. I ask him what games and he said Crackdown. This was 4 full days before the actuall release of the game.

The game was in the store, I could physically see an actuall copy of it but couldnt pick it up because the street date had not arrived yet. I understand my buddy doesnt want to get in troble with a random inspection/inventory, but really, what the hell is the big deal about holding on to games till the street date?

Wrong wrong. Release date = shipping date where I am. You probably live closer to a distribution center.
