I'm only at 7k but i have 3 new games + a few on their way which should give me a good boost to the 10k mark.
Mind you school only lets me boost maybe 80 points a week sometimes none. i miss those holiday weeks with 1k+ a week :(

To get that kind of score you must be playing all the worst games too. SpigleyMcCheeseI've played some junk... sure. I have played crappy games for points in the past, but I'm trying to just enjoy decent games lately (that's why the 30's took forever I guess, not willing to play Shrek/Surf's Up/Pirates/etc...) Although I can say that I have played some really fun games I would have never picked up, which is the beauty of points on a positive side. (Open Season, Shadowrun, etc...) My biggest flaw is that I'll play sports games for points, when I'm not a huge sports game fan. Worst game I got all 1000 from: Superman Returns by far.
If I added both my accounts together id have 12k (one of them was banned)martin_f
Lol, why was it banned?
Why do people care about gamerscore, does it even prove anything besides you had enough time to play all these games? I only play games I want to, which is not many. Most of my points are from NBA 2k6, MLB 2k7, NBA 2k7 and Fight Night. Those consists of about 2500 of my 2900.
I play the games that I acctually want but I'm really looking to get up to 20,000 soon I've been at 10,000 for a long long time. ihateyou_right10,000 to 30,000 went fairly quick for me, just because I started getting more serious about it at around 10,000... and played EVERYTHING to get me up quickly. In the 30's was when I went back to playing less games.
Congrats on hitting 40,000. I am currently 200 or so points away from hitting 20,000.....and to me that is definitely a milestone. Hopefully it won't take me forever to get to 30,000.princesszeldaOne of the sites that kept me playing was 360voice.com. They have "badges" like GameSpot for certain achievements and one time I got the 1% one. I read it and it said I was in the top 1% of all 360voice gamers which I thought was cool. There were times I slipped out of the top1%, and I would actually try to get back in there. I think I'm pretty safe now, about 78 places into the top 1%... but that helped me keep working at it.
What i cant understand is why u play games u dont like only for the points :/insanimillerI don't really play games I HATE for points, but I'll put up with a mildly frustrating game if I know it will yield me some decent points. Notice I have some games that are "point whore" games, that I don't have any, or few points for (Bionicle, Kameo, etc...). Those were games I really didn't care for at all, so the points weren't "worth it" to me.
To some people (me) it's just another dimension to gaming. It's just a simple way to share something about the hobby you love. I use it as a way to battle my friends, for some friendly competition. (I have around 100 people on my F/L, and I am actually #2... one of my friends is at 46111 right now) I have always been a competitive person... and this just speaks to that part of me. I know I'll never get a free car (although I got a free game, t-shirt, arcade game, ms points, & gamerpics) for points... but I don't care. The fun that Gamerscore has brought to MY (maybe not your) gaming has far outweighed the frustration on some of the points. I never put down those with less points than me, or use it as a way to say someone "sucks" because their score isn't what mine is (like some people do). I actually think different people can have different "milestones" and it's all awesome for gamers. The guys on here hitting their first 1000, or 10,000... that's just as cool to me, because if they take the time to tell me/us about it, then they are getting something else from gaming this generation. PS3 trophies will act the same way, and I applaud anyone who wants to give me MORE than what I was offered before. I have always played video games, and I always will... so anything to enhance MY (maybe not your) experience is ok by me. The cool thing about them, is they are there to use them if you want to (like the DVD or Blu-Ray playback, or web browsing feature of a given system), but if you don't care for that feature, then you will still enjoy the features that suit you. Simple as that. I enjoy Achievements... you don't... simple, right? Why do people care about gamerscore, does it even prove anything besides you had enough time to play all these games? I just passed 20,000 last weekend by breaking out some old games like COD 2 on veteran and finally getting back to Dead Rising and Oblivion. I also managed to finish my GH2 Expert tour finally.joshua6775COD2 is still probably the hardest 1000 I've done... I loved GH2, but the Expert Tour??? You must be a GH god... I can't even clear 2 songs on HARD... Awesome job man! One game I HAVE to get back to and finish all the points is Oblivion... I'll do it someday.
I just hit 43,000. 43,004 to be exact. I got to 35,000 easy enough but its slowed down since then for 2 reasons.
1. In the beginning, once i beat a game, id then go back and try for certain achievements i didnt get the first time. Games like Gun, where you get an achievement for beating it on every difficulty. Not just Hard then you get all the others, you had to go through it 4 different times. Anyway, i find myself not doing that as much. Not because i dont enjoy the games but more because there are MORE games to enjoy now.
2. As developers are getting used to the whole achievements thing, they seem to be taking the time to actually think about what the achievements are before putting them in the game, which makes them harder to get. Ex. NBA2K. 2K6 had 5 achievements. I got all 1,000 points in NBA2K6 in ONE game. The first game i played. NBA2K7 now has 50 achievements. 15 of those acievements are getting X points or X rebounds or X blocks with different players. It may not be difficult, but its alot more time consuming.
I like the new "system" of achievements. There are more of them per game, theyre harder, they take more time. They make getting certain achievements fun. Ones like, beating the whole game without dieing like in FEAR. Or base jumping 1000 meters in Just Cause. To me achievements like that are alot of fun to get.
And please people, stop calling EVERY person with a high gamerscore an "achievement whore". I enjoy the points. But i wont play a game JUST for the points. Ive got all 1,000 points in 15 games, but i also have 0 points in 11 games. You know why? Because i played the game, didnt like it, and stopped playing it.

Good reasons, makes me not think so badly about them. Reason I did was because for some odd reason, people thought your gamerscore translated into skill. I would try to play people in some games and they would be like "no dude your score is too low". To a point, I also think it messes up the game. Like in Gears of War, everyone just wants to get their own achievements, if people played to win I think it would be better.

I have a rather low gamerscore, but I really do enjoy going after achievements. I don't like to buy bad games, so I'll spend my time going after achievements on ones I have. For instance I would have never done the heavy weight race in forza if there wasn't an achievement for it.
On a side note I feel really special because of how hard some people felt COD2 was on veteran because it was my first 360 game and I got that achievemnet relatively easily.
I finally hit 40,000+ gamerscore. It seems like I have been stuck in the 30's for a year. I guess 50K is the next milestone... but that may take a while. A lot of games are coming out in the next few weeks though... so maybe I'll get a boost! I sometimes use these boards for help, and I always get it... so thanks to anyone who has helped me get this far.remaGloohcSdlO
Damn bro go outside and do something productive already...Jesus I have 2k and I bought my 360 last year wtf.
I feel the same way. It was fun, but it wasnt overly difficult for me like so many other people. But thats why achievements are so good, whats hard for some people are easy for others. On a side note I feel really special because of how hard some people felt COD2 was on veteran because it was my first 360 game and I got that achievemnet relatively easily.
