Ok, I remember playing games a long time ago, and bosses would get alot harder, and what you thought was hard before was then easy, Now playing new games like mw2, I found the difficulty in that was the same the hole way through didn't get harder at all..

Left 4 dead didn't get harder at all I guess its not suppose to though? But I've played quite a through games that just don't get harder as the go on, Borderlands didn't really get harder.. Sure the lance was a bit of a step up but nothing much.

idk did games never really get harder as they go on? Or am I just thinking they did? (Thinking about times on my ps2 I remember games getting harder every level)

I was just thinking about this yesterday. Games aren't hard anymore. The developers make sure that they're easy so that everyone can play them. As time goes on corporations get greedier and consumers get dumber.

yes games in the past got harder, bc most of the older games were games like mario, and stuff like that...mario for the wii gets harder as you go

FPS games dont get harder that much, but games with puzzles do...also put it on the hardest difficulty if u want a challenge

Hardest difficulty on shooters? I do, and yet, I still feel its the same difficulty all the way through nothing harder as you go on. If you can beat the first few missions, you can beat the rest.

I think gears made it a bit harder as you go on though, (With the bosses)

But not much.

In shooters all they can do to make it harder and kep it on pace with the story is give the enemy bigger guns and send more of them at you. In a lot of adventure games and platformers they do get harder as you go on.

For the most part I agree, games are not as hard as they use to be back in the day.. BUT.... Go try to beat al 5 of Left4Dead2's campaignas on EXPERT, its crazy hard! Like 10 times harder then the first left4dead was on Expert

Well, MWF2 has several difficulty settings. You can make it Vet if you think its too easy, that'll give you a challenge. Progressive difficulty is very genre specific though. Platformers and RPGs tend to have Progressive difficulty, while FPS and sports games have different but consistent difficulty settings.

Games dont get harder now a days, because gaming is more about story telling then it was back in the older gens. Developers are trying to tell more of a story, and its really not taking away from gameplay -- but they want everyone to be able to play out there story... Think a movie, in video game form.
