The Good:
* Intricate level design
* Beautiful art direction
* Platforming is entertaining and looks great
* Cinematic combat moves are cool to pull off and impressive to watch
* Elika's presence leads to unique gameplay mechanics.

The Bad:

* Really, really easy
* The new prince isn't a good leading man
* Some combat and platforming annoyances.

If anything it just seems like a rent for me now. One of favorite things about the series was that it was one of the last few, in my opinion, truly difficult games along with like Ninja Gaiden. The fact that this installment has had the difficulty dummed down for a 5 year old to play just really upset me. So yeah I might rent it just to check out the game but not worth my $65.NickAnguiano

Thats why for me PoP is only a rental.

First point, if 8 is low then the world must be going downhill, gawd if I averaged 8.0 or 80 in school I would have been really happy.

Second, it's a fun game, I've only a chance to play for about 10 minutes before my Xbox froze up and I shut it off to go to sleep.

IGN and Gamespot normally differ by about .5 at most...but seeing as IGN gave this a 9.3 that's quite a difference in opinion. Game looks awesome though.

Agrred, but an 8.0 isn't low. I'd say the breakoff point is at 75%. Kingdom hearts for example was one of my favorite games of last gen and that got an 82% here. Just because a game doesn't get a 90% it does not mean it isn't a really great game to play. The opposite can also be argued as well. Not all 90% games will hold the same value to everyone as is the case with all the haters of halo, final fantasy, and any other popular game.

This isn't directed at you, but to those who only pick up titles that earn above a 90% (like I have done in the past) you'd be missing out on some really great gaming experiences.

Yeah this seems exactly like the situation that happened with Assassin's Creed.

no, there aren't any difficulty levels...which sucks. however, i figured not using the elika power that shows you EXACTLY where to travel would help give the game more 'life'. I found this to be the same problem with the Metroid Prime series, but i always turned off the hint system which made the experience MUCH better.

ill definitely be getting this...havent played PoP since Sands of Time (which i LOVED) and im craving some solid platforming.

Now that you mention it, it never gave me the option to lower or raise difficulty.
