Gears 2 Online getting worse daily

i mean i love gears 2. it has an amazing multiplayer but seriously almost every other match i get in is a lagfest. its getting stupid. all its doing is messing up my stats and rank which are damn good in territorries matches.

i agree with you and i'd say i have more of a problem with all the dumb glitches! they r easy to learn to counter people that r doing them but i mean come on! if cliff b would of just released a beta we would have no problems with GOW2 online

It's too laggy, and Matchmaking takes ages. I'm not gonna give Gears 2 Multiplayer a chance. It's a great Single/Co-Op experience, but they messed up so bad on the multi on so many levels.

I'll go to Halo 3, or consider buying COD4.

i dunno why people are always lagging. i play all the time and i almost never get a laggy game. i do get games where the teams are uneven but rarely is it laggy.CardiacKid07

Yeah, it's pretty horrible. There was a patch rumoured to be out last week, but it never happened (sadly). I played CoD4 yesterday, and loved every minute of it.

Little-to-no lag, almost instant matchmaking, fast gameplay, great ranking system (where there's no headache for you having a garbage team), etc. Epic needs to seriously think things through, because their game is going downhill - and fast.

Its about 1 out of 5 games i will find a laggy one so its never usually bad for me and my internet isn't that great either.

I hadn't run into any glitches until today i mean it was pretty annoying i had infinite bullets and couldn't hit anyone even with the chainsaw and waited for 2 waves of horde to finish before it was back to normal.Also another glitch with the mortar got annoying too, its gameplay is awesome online but some of these glitches really need some fixing.

I have had luck for the past 5 days getting into matches quickly.

the shield glitche is easy to counter

my only problem now are quitters. My friends and I went 4-0 against a team with 4 4th ranks and one 1st rank (my team was 3 2nd rank and 2 3rd ranks) only to have all four 4th ranks quit after the fourth round.

Hell no.... i LOVE Gears2 online, me and my cousin are having a great time playing HORDE and King Of The Hill modes.

This game is MUCH better then Gears1 in ever way!

I join games in under a minute all the time, i get NO lag what-so-ever, ive only seen one cheat (the shotgun shield cheat) and the gameplay online is fantastic.

Damn i got this game yesterday and was playing and some guy was all alone not moving at all, and i said, "heh miles well saw em!" i hold b and all the sudden were in a saw duel! its too bad his teamate killed me cause i didn't know how to break the deal by then.

I have to agree with this since most of the games I played were never laggy it just took forever to find a match. I've switched to WaW and I couldnt be happier.

I gave up on the multi player a while ago. Theres far to many bugs in it for me and even some game play things annoy me granades didn't need this frag tagging. Espically to the walls to act as mines. When I'm killed by something I often letting out a big sigh because. I've felt cheated which a game shouldn't really make me feel GoW1 didn't for a start.

Lag is awful and I thought Epic have a history of making multi player games so strange. It maybe because its the one of the few games using the "Cover system" and if working with more, less tryed combat then should be thought to be tested more.

Hate to say but I agree.

The lag is killing me lately.

I've gone back to CoD4. I might pick up WaW. I didn't even get my $60 worth of multiplayer. :(the_foreign_guy

Just to let everyone know, at Best Buy, and I think Amazon now, online are selling CoD: WaW for $35. (I am pretty sure free shipping too)

3 things that ruined the MP

1) Matchmaking took FOREVER

2) When someone left there would be uneven , they should allow ou to join in mid match and keep playing with that party like in GOW1

3) Lagfest

Alright so your saying it's microsoft's fault for you lagging? Comparing microsoft's to yours, good comparison.

Like i said, either internet connection or someone's doing the lagswitch, and you just get the luck of playing against them.

i really dont know why everyone dislikes gears online so muich. I have very few problems with any kind of lag during play, and most games i get into a group a people in about 30-60 seconds which when looking at your stats for the last round it doesnt even seem like a a wait. I do not know why everyone is hating on the online of gears 2. I am having a lot more fun with gears 2 then gears 1. And wingman is a lot of fun with a friend.StartARiot7

Look, it depends on what kind of player you are. Some people just want to play a game and don't really care about the specifics. Personally, I like to play long games (at least 10 rounds to win, usually around 15) so that I can learn how my opponents are playing and build strategy with teammates.5 rounds doesn't give you much time to do that. Also, I really do care which map I play on. For instance, I absolutely despise River and Day One, but with the crappy voting system these are always selected, while solid maps like Hail are hardly ever chosen. The game selection system from Gears 1 was flawles and there was no reason to change it.

The glitches are also kind of hard to swallow, after the disastrous performance by Epic's progammers in eradicating glitches from the first one (I think they managed not even one). Epic knew that their coding was loose and allowed for crap like this to happen. Any intelligent company would have released a Beta, but no, because according to Cliffy B. it is like a casual lay with a slut (god that guy is a loser). And now, over a month after Gears 2 was released, we still have people running around with Boomshields and lancers, but the team sure has time to come up with new maps to charge money for.

But the main thing is the smoke grenades and frag planting. These are game mechanics that have no business in a multiplayer game like Gears. It is pure buffoonery that makes me think that Cliffy and the rest wound up sucking at their own game, so they put in some tools to allow n00bish losers to get kills.

Sorry about the wall of text, but this game has me really angry. I really want to find out where Cliffy B. lives just to hit him in the face with a tire iron.

My biggest problem isnt lag its not even really the glitches its the stupid teamates you get and the uneven teams. In gears one who cared if you had an uneven team because People could still join the game...Hence STILL WAS ABLE TO JOIN THE GAME!! Why would you change an unbroken multiplayer like gears 1 had yea gears 2 is cool and all blah blah blah but they should have still let people join the game mid through so you wouldnt be uneven almost all the time.Red122

Gears 1 unbroken? Severe host advantage, glitches, and cheating = broken multiplayer.
