yeah, i played the first one to death in spite of its horrible glitches and brokeness and i'm almost ready to trade this one in and that's saying something too because i keep every game i buy. (I kept Perfect Dark Zero) I'm a gamer who has a kid and job and can think of better games to spend my time on rather than waiting for this one to get fixed.

Lol that happened to me yesterday. I mean WTF, it still won't let you leave the lobby without going to the dashboard when there is no opposing team.

[QUOTE="StartARiot7"]i really dont know why everyone dislikes gears online so muich. I have very few problems with any kind of lag during play, and most games i get into a group a people in about 30-60 seconds which when looking at your stats for the last round it doesnt even seem like a a wait. I do not know why everyone is hating on the online of gears 2. I am having a lot more fun with gears 2 then gears 1. And wingman is a lot of fun with a friend.RebornInFlames

Look, it depends on what kind of player you are. Some people just want to play a game and don't really care about the specifics. Personally, I like to play long games (at least 10 rounds to win, usually around 15) so that I can learn how my opponents are playing and build strategy with teammates.5 rounds doesn't give you much time to do that. Also, I really do care which map I play on. For instance, I absolutely despise River and Day One, but with the crappy voting system these are always selected, while solid maps like Hail are hardly ever chosen. The game selection system from Gears 1 was flawles and there was no reason to change it.

The glitches are also kind of hard to swallow, after the disastrous performance by Epic's progammers in eradicating glitches from the first one (I think they managed not even one). Epic knew that their coding was loose and allowed for crap like this to happen. Any intelligent company would have released a Beta, but no, because according to Cliffy B. it is like a casual lay with a slut (god that guy is a loser). And now, over a month after Gears 2 was released, we still have people running around with Boomshields and lancers, but the team sure has time to come up with new maps to charge money for.

But the main thing is the smoke grenades and frag planting. These are game mechanics that have no business in a multiplayer game like Gears. It is pure buffoonery that makes me think that Cliffy and the rest wound up sucking at their own game, so they put in some tools to allow n00bish losers to get kills.

Sorry about the wall of text, but this game has me really angry. I really want to find out where Cliffy B. lives just to hit him in the face with a tire iron.

Ha river and day one are 2 of the best maps that is why they are always voted for. And i like long matches too its just hard to get people to stay in the game for the whole 15 matches. I hated in gears 1 where you would play a long game and just have people quit, its just dumb and makes the game boring.

Ugh I don't know how people can like them, esp Day One. The power weapon areas are too controllable, only one access point and you have to go upstairs? It would be easy to solve the quitter problem - just open up the player slot once someone quits and put the game back in the server search list. That's how player matches worked in Gears 1, there's no reason public matches couldn't be done the same way. Epic's system for balancing teams is laughable (actually a lot of their ideas are laughable, I really think I could do a better job than them) so it really wouldn't matter if the guy coming in is a pro or a scrub

i'm with you reborn, other elimination type games like counterstrike had no issues with drop in and drop out players. If anything it keeps the other team on their toes to have a new player join an having to react to a potentially new threat they haven't had in other rounds. i'm a big fan of the idea that the game should enforce anti camping and slay a player if they cherry pick a spot on the map for too long.
