Not sure if this would make a difference for them or not...but you can turn off the gore and bad language in the options menu. That would make Gears a "Teen" rating in my opinion.

Oh god, please tell me you're buying the game not them. You have no chance. Just empty your bank and buy bioshock in 2 weeks. We don't need another 8 year old on XBL...juts stick with the campaign if you do buy it, that's the greatest part of the game imo. Multiplayer has stupid people on it all the time.

BTW, how old are you. You shouldn't even get the game if you're under 14 (depending on your maturity level).

Dude, no offense, but u r 13. There is a reason why it isnt rated Teen. Turning off the gore really does take a lot of it out. But there is still the usual '**** YEAH!!!". Actually, the only language taken out was "It is a ******* party down here." That is it, the rest is still there. But yeah, if ur parents r at all protective, they wont let u get near this game. Srry man.

I don't know anyone who honestly abides ESRB ratings, lol. If your parents say no, I guess you know the answer huh?

Man I can't believe there are parents stopping their kids from playing M rated games. Yeah maybe stop from online, but singleplayer, I mean come on. I was playing GTA (III and up that is) when I was 10, Doom when I was 6. I feel bad for you. You probably have no chance with this game, I'm sorry to say. Just wait till you turn 14 and maybe Gears 2 will be out by then.

Unfortunately, you don't have much of a chance. My parents were the same way when I was your age, and the only M games I could play at 13 were stuff like Halo, Devil May Cry, Diablo, Unreal Tournament (w/ the gore turned off), and other mild M games. I'm 16 now, so I can play any game I want, but my mom still cringes whenever she sees me playing Gears of War. It's a very violent game, and although you might be able to convince them to let you play it, showing them anything that's actually in the game will only cause them stand by their decision. I know it's frustrating, but you may just have to wait this one out. At least your parents are going to let you play it at 14. I have a friend who is 16, and his parents won't let him play M games, watch R movies, or buy explicit music.

You can turn the gore off but then it ruins it for me. Just tell them its a game and to get over it.

I impressed that your parents care about the ratings. When I worked at Myer (Australian Department store) that sold video games (yeah I was in the Toy Department :) ) I would say that it's M rated and most parents would look at the picks on the back and shrug their shoulds saying 'it's what timmy wants'. I remember selliing 'Conkers bad fur day' on N64 to a parent with a 12. Anyway nuff from me, move along :D
