Guys, is it a good idea to pay the $80 and get a 2 year warranty on my 360? Since I heard the xbox break down frequantly

Get a warranty. Even if your 360 doesn't break down, other things can still happen to it. It's worth the peace of mind to get a warranty.

Buy it without hesistation. You have nothing to lose except your 360 if it breaksdown outside the manufacturer's warranty.

Just keep in mind that if you buy the warranty, nothing will ever happen to your 360... sort of like if you take your umbrella with you, it won't rain.

If you buy an Xbox 360 from Currys or Argos, they can sell you an extended warranty. They range from 24-36 months, but they don't come cheap. I think they are upwards of £70.

I got screwed.  My wife got the 360 for me as a X-mas gift and by the time X-Mas got here I was past the warentee registration date and she didn't get the store warerntee either.  So I am keeping my fingers crossed and pray to the video game gods that it doesn't break.

Even if it does call microsoft and wait for a person ( instead of the automated guy ) and they will tell you to ship the 360 to them in a special box they give you. the next thing ya know your playing Live with the free subscribtion they give you.

well the warrenty you get when you buy it is now 3 years so if you buy another 2 year one you will have a 5 year warranty. By then who knows Microsift may have out their newest console lol.

My 360 got Error 74 last week, which is not covered by the 3 year warranty, and it cost $94. I would suggest getting the $80 warranty.
