While it isn't CH2 it may just be the next best thing.

Chromehounds developer, From Software, is revamping the Armored Core series and pushing for a more team focused, online oriented gameplay. From the screenshots this seems to be the case, as well as an uncanny resemblence to CH.

Sweet we need more giant mech games. I really liked how CH wasn't flying robots with swords.

No, but it quickly devolved into hovering robots with spikes or mortars...

I was much too late when it came to Chromehounds, and never got a chance to play online before they shutdown the servers. Hopefully this will do better than Front Mission: Evolved when it comes to online play.

Dang, got me all excited for nothing.

If I'm not mistaken From Software has been the dev for Armored Core for a long time, also I'm not a fan of humanoid shaped mechs that fly around at high speeds.

Armored Core 4 was alright, but we'll see how it turns out with the persistent online battlefield.

Also, to an above poster. The hovering spikers were incredibly easy to destroy with a standard biped/inverted mech loaded with rocket pods. Did not even have to be accurate.

Two completely different games. I liked AC4 as a fast-paced, arcadey single player game. I liked the idea of Chromehounds (although it wasn't very well executed) as a slow, tactical, team-based online game. Armored Core as an online team game will still be fast paced and arcadey, nothing like Chromehounds. Also I suspect that, as with many games, the focus on online means the single player will be worse.
