I like gta, it's fun, but it does get a little boring. I don't think it deserved a 10, maybe a 8.0 to a 9.0

Maybe he's blindly following ideas and values of a yutz and he feels he needs to bash things that are good. I think I saw a thread where this guy was ragging on oxygen, stating it too was overrated and doesn't deserve a 10.

My bad, I'm not saying he is a fan boy, my point was that people will flame him for hating that game, I personnaly like it but I won't give it a 10 out of 10, it would be a 9 or 9.5 out of 10 because the game isn't perfect and it didn't surpass my expectations and dissapointed me a bit.

What ppl want it to get a 10.5 or better yet they want it to be called the greatest game ever. Even the most fannatical fan can't think that.

Yeah, an 8. :roll: Trust me, GTAIV deserves every award and score it's received. It's a solid and focused game, unlike previous entries into the series other than GTAIII.

Compared to what? Why does it suck? What's your reason for it sucking?? Why was it a "huge disapointment"? Because they took out all the stupid crap from San Andreas that probably only a handful of people used?

GTAIV provides a very detailed, indepth look into a GTA world. There's a lot more interaction between you and the world this time around. It's not spaced out with tons of empty land and other useless garbage (wow, I can put rims on my stolen car or go work out and get my hair cut! :roll: ).

I applaud Rockstar for taking a new direction with the series and moving it away from its early cartoony roots. And why not give some solid reasons or examples instead of just saying, "it sucks".

when i bought GTA4 i thought it was gonna be the best game ever its fun and all but got boring quite quick and so many places cant be explored, and for some reason the graphics dont feel that perfect either (played it in hd) i dont think san andreas got a 10 why did this shoulda got a 8 tops like other people said

It deserved a 9.5. My only complaint is all the stuff you could do in SA (Customize, clothes, airplanes, tanks, etc..) they took all that out. Aswell the online is laggy but other than that it wouldve deserved a 10.

No it didn't suck it was a very good game detailed and lively.......with that said what it did do was fall short of greatness because it got old real quick. The mark of a perfect ten wouldn't be flawlessness but one of the things you would see in a ten is replay value. This entry into the Gta series is hard to even finish the first round. After 15 hours you have seen the game ten times over again and then you fight to finish it. Like many others i wanted to kill all friends that called to hook up to do things i had done a million times. Then go on missions that were basically the same as the rest and then it becomes a chore. So i wouldn't say it was a huge disappointment or it suck i will say it just didn't turn out to be as good as a lot of us thought it would and honestly there was no way to tell. They delivered everything they promise before the games release, it was the things that we didn't see coming until we played it that got us.

I don't know if I would use the term "overrated", but I don't think it deserved a 10 due to some of the game-stopping glitches that the GS reviewer stated that he experienced. Other than that, the game deserved all the accolades it received, imo. It was much more focused than the other entries, and the level of interaction with the game world was the best of the series.

Most people say its overrated for the same reasons- You get the game you pop it in and wow your have a ball you play and play and then somewhere between 10 and 15 hours in you start to struggle with completing anything its getting boring and you don't know why. You get mad when you friends call and ask to hang out cause you've done those things a million times your getting tired of getting drunk and your missions are starting to run together. Then you realize that the first ten or so hours you have seen the best that this game has to offer and then you get mad. Although you shouldn't its a great game its just not as fun a the last few Gta's. At that point you squeeze the last few hours in and finish it and then you pack it up and trade it in thank god for gamestop!

Here let me help you with that (Overrated meaning its rated over what its worth so if it is lets say an 8.5 or 9 and it gets a 10 then its.......Overrated). So saying it doesn't deserve a 10 out of 10 is the same as saying its Overrated. Funny huh! you were saying the same thing and didn't even know it! lol

Huh? I know what overrated means, I want to know what's so overrated about the game (i.e., story, graphics, sound, gameplay, etc.) in comparison, not just the score. Anyone can say, "it sucks" and that's it, but why. That's what I want to know.

I gave it a 7.5/10 for several reasons. Number one being it is too boring. I got so tired of having to chase people down to kill them time and time again. To me there is very little variety in the missions and my attention was never held for more than 45 minutes at a time. I play through one mission and then just play a few deathmatches online, which isn't even that good since a lot of the time the screen just says loading for ten minutes with nothing happening.

I'll admit the cell phone idea is great, but making and keeping 'friends' is ridiculous; I'm not playing a game called GTA:The Sims. Even though it is not required I am also tired of the girlfriend aspect for the same reasons.

I'm not going to sit here and write a review though. Overall, I thought the game was pretty good but I expected so much and I don't think Rockstar delivered.

I think people are missing the point of friends in GTAIV. This isn't The Sims where they come over, help themselves to whatever you have in the fridge, sleep in your bed and possibly set the kitchen on fire. They were their to assist you throughout the game.

The girlfriends helped with things like lowering your wanted level, restoring health, etc. There was a point to them. Same with the rest of the friends you keep, they helped you. You didn't have to drive over floating stars to lower your wanted level. It helps keep the real world theme going by not having floating icons all over the city. I thought it was a brilliant way to incorporate those aspects into the game.

It is. Not worth a 10/10.

I admit you have a point. And I agree %100 about the floating star aspect; way more realistic and I also like how the police have a 'range' that they track you in.

You cant have fun on rampages anymore because the cops are omnipresent, the missions are really repetetive, and they removed all of the over the top fun from the originals. And what happened to the landmarks and funny stuff from the other games like SA. The "emptiness" of SA wasnt really empty, it just didnt have civilization. It was filled with small towns and easter eggs to find. In GTAIV theres one easter egg, the statue of liberties heart. Wooptie-fricken doo! Its a heart, and it doesnt do anything, so why is it there?

Not to mention that no matter what Niko puts on he still looks like he has a beer belly. And admit it, you liked the character and car customization in SA because it changed something. Nikos wardrobe consists of jackets, thats it. Has he never heard of T-shirts?

They removed tanks, which means no more running through the streets battling the army. They removed all of the fun weapons, which means killing people on rampages is boring. They removed the country, which means no more planes and flying, which was really fun because it added a flight sim to GTA, and flight sims are always fun. They removed variation, every mission is just another mobster or punk who want s you to kill a bunch of people. What happened to the imaginative missions in SA like bombing the plane and then jumping out, or attacking the casino, they removed it. In the end, R* removed all of the fun that was GTA and replaced it with this serious, gritty, unreality that is GTAIV.

Extremely!! Take notes everyone, if you're going to say a game "sucks" in the future, this is how you do it! I may or may not agree with some of the stuff you've said, but I will agree 100% that this is how to do it. :D
