Of course they want to keep it down.  BUt with they put in 30 or 40 maps, have textures for 720p and 1080p, stuff like that, teh memory will go up.  Plus the game looks geter than GEars imo ( they both use the same engine lol ) So it will takae alot of disc space.

simple solution: require a hard drive to play it.

i know ms claims to not want a required hard drive, but *if* (when?)it causes the large majority of gamers to suffer then they will probably change their position.

they should just do like nintendo did when they released the memory expansion when they released donkey kong 64.

it should not be this big of a deal.

I think of the people that own a core system, at least half of them wanted a full system, but were stuck with the core.  This and backwards compatibility were, imo, MS's biggest blunders on the 360.  They should just do like Coke did with New Coke, and say, we goofed, we are no longer offering a HDless console, and some games are going to require it.

Since every single game can play without the HD why would you think GTA needs one? If Oblivion and Two Worlds can play without a hard drive I see no reason why GTA cannot. People are just over hyping what was said and it doesn't mean anything. He never said they were havigg a problem without the hard drive.

I'm not worried about it... at all. They're not gonna release a shoddy product, they'll figure something out. *nod self*

ps3 discontinued the 20gb, why not do the same for the xbox 0 gb?
i seriously am getting pissed when i hear that the xbox versions of games will be compromised because of lack of hd and lack of disc space. now integrating a hd format in a console doesnt sound like such a bad idea, does it? damn, if only ms and sony got together to make one single console, that would have been cool

not all people have a hard drive i have a ps3 and a gamming pc for my main systems and i got my kids a 'cheep' xbox 360, so i could just let them play on that what with all the games that are out now for the 360 . Not a good move for microsoft if it stars afecting games down the line for all the 360 owners:( but good for dads like me to keep the little ones happy on the cheep loldarbyshireandy

If they are little they shouldn't be allowed to play GTA 4 so yeah...

True ..again most 360 owners have a HDD allready so why should everyone suffer from the small minority ? Again if they want to play that game they can get a HDD so M$ makes more money so xbox is profitable so more money will be involved in making new and better games.

The HDD presents a problem because games can use it for cache to help spee dup loadign ( or in a GTA's case, help with streaming. ) Also becuase of DVD9, that too is another problem that many people have mentioned, not jsut Rockstar. I believe Epic Games said Unreal Tournament 3 is 30Gbs right now and their not even done with it.. Of course they need to finish and compress, but still i think DVD9 is a big hinderence holding 360 back.JumpingMirrior

There's something called double discs ...heck Blue Dragon comes in 3 DVDs . IF the game i s30 hours long overa u need to get off the couch and change it once every 10 hours which is not a hard thing to do.
