Interesting article, thanks.
it was no problem at all.i think it will be another 2 years before episode 3 is released, cuz you have to think they had been working on Left 4 Dead and now their prolly workin on DLC for L4D and MAYBE just now starting on the development of Ep3
y does valve take forever to release games?. if it takes em more then 2 years to release an EPisode. how much will it take em to release HL3?. 10 years?:?
just beat half-life 2 today. still have to play ep1 and 2 so idc if ep3 doesnt come out for a while :P
Got to remember that Valve are smart, they don't make bad games, they take as long as they need to to ensure that their games are the best. I mean, would you prefer them to release like a bad game every year, or wait a couple years for a truly outstanding experience, I think more Game Developers should take a leaf out of Valve's book and try and focus more on the quality of their games rather than how many of them they release.y does valve take forever to release games?. if it takes em more then 2 years to release an EPisode. how much will it take em to release HL3?. 10 years?:?

I got some inside stuff here, i was searching google on about page 23 all i searched was half life episode 3 lol, the forum said the game starts starts with you escaping city 17 in a helicopter, being chased by those things that killed eli. but crash in some forest outside of another city, then you get captured by the combine or something. the game ends at elis funeral.
but how good are their games? isnt it better to wait a bit then to get a bad buggy game? half life 2, tf2, l4d are all masterpieces but we had to wait. and im happy to wait a little longer for ep3y does valve take forever to release games?. if it takes em more then 2 years to release an EPisode. how much will it take em to release HL3?. 10 years?:?

source is amazing. valve is seriously the best game developers today alongside of infinity ward. they truely know how to make good games. ya know how long it took to make half life 1? i dont have a problem waiting a long time, the anticipation is what keeps society rolling. i just hope we are alive by the time it comes out!!

But those companies that are putting out the horrible games are in it for the money and it shows. Consumers are still buying those bad games as well so there's not really anything stopping them from pumping out a new game every year.[QUOTE="MissMorphine"]

X( . But you are right, the way they present new puzzles each time and badass cinematic, you think that they wont exceed the quality barrier they created. But they keep on breaking the barrier. Not to mention it's hard to make a better squeals to a blockbuster games.[QUOTE="MissMorphine"]

Call of Duty 4 was developed in about 1 and a half years. It took less than a year for it to become the best-selling first-person shooter ever made. Let me repeat that. The best-selling first-person shooter ever made.
Yes. Infinity Ward is that good.
Valve needs to step it up. I really like their games, but the one-game-per-decade rule they seem to have is extremely annoying. Their games aren't nearly good enough to warrant such long development times. Hell, no game in history is good enough to warrant such long development times. They might think it's cute to leave their fans waiting for so long, but if they don't act soon, their fans are going to start disappearing.
