I was a Halo fan since the first game, and now im throwing away the helmet. Halo 3 is the biggest let down to one of the best series.

Halo 1 was named combat evolved, and it delivered everything its name promised. It was the first great console shooter in my opinion, had everything from a good single player campaign, multiplayer and the visuals to match.

Halo 2 kept this up with better multiplayer features, dual welding, improved graphics on the same hardware, and still a very decent single player campaign. It introduced the arbitor and let you in on his story. Very cool indeed.

Halo 3 did not match up to the first two games in any aspect. Single player campaign is abysmal. There are only a few good missions, and you can name them on your first three fingers. For every other mission, it was basically, find this, get to this point, and watch the cutscene so the story can progress. They made an entire mission on helping allied soldier escape?!! This is Halo 3, ther universe is about to explode. Where did story progression go? Did Bungie developers sudddenly catch down syndrome?

There were so many opportunities for Halo 3 to be a good game, and Bungie failed to catch any of them. What the hell happened to the arbitor. Bungie introduced the coolest character next to master chief and just abandonned it. They could have easily diversified game play and expand on the story. There are no other compelling characters other than cortana and truth, and truth isnt even focused on until he dies.

The new combat features are pathetic, the only cool feature is ripping a turret off. And this is suppose to make up for a covoluted story, poor level design and horrible graphics? There were portions of the game where I really thought I was playing halo 2 again. There were improvements in lighting and character modeling, but they're ruined by horrible jaggness. Halo 3 released in 2007! Alongside Gears of War!

Multiplayer and the forge is Halo 3's only saving grace. But this is not excusable. Bungie should have just charged 30 dollars for a new multiplayer halo game.

Edit: Hopefully you didnt get sucked into fanfarism, and realize that I was comparing Halo 3 with its predecessors and saying how the campaign failed in comparison.

Maybe you should post this on Bungie.net and let Shiska or Luke tear you up. Wait, they don't care either if your disappointed in Halo 3.
Your aloud to have an opinion, but leave it for the blog please.

You're welcome to your opinion, but I, and the millions of others who enjoy it, disagree. I think it's a fantastic game, and multiplayer never gets old, especially with Forge (even though it's a bit limited). Also, would it kill you to use the search button? Believe it or not, there have been many threads like this in the year since Halo 3 was released.

That mission about saving the alied soldiers, the first one im guessing, was becuase it was sgt johnson and chief happened to crash land on that planet. The arbitor is with chief every level on co-op and has story cutscenes. The graphics are a huge leap from halo 2. Halo's missions have always been get to this point shoot stuff, and move on. Your just mad cuz it doesn't live up to your high expectations. next you will want halo to educate your kids and clean your laundry.

LOL are you blind? Yes I already said there were improvements, character modeling and lighting. Battlefields were larger, yes. When I look at the game on the whole, I notice a few gorgeous levels, and a whole lot of sub-par level design. Yes i can take the approach of just paying attention to the good parts but the bad parts are so much more overwhelming this time around. Did anyone else think Bungie could have smoothed out some of that jaggness easily. Or put slightly more details on the trees or the inside of the convenant ships. These glaring gloss overs just make me feel that Bungie did a really lazy job of passing graphics. At best I felt Halo 3 looked like a standard current gen shooter. At worst, they could have made this on the xbox. The truth is, it just felt that Bungie did not put as much effort into Halo 3 as Halo 2 or 1.

You're such a halo zealot that you lost your brain. Dont you think its bad for bungie to hear all these praises from the die hard fans who obviously lost their ability to critique constructively anymore? It seems to me that the Halo community needs people who will point out where Halo 3 went wrong, so Bungie can freshen up and deliver the best next game.

I think Halo 3 was a balance between halo 1 and 2.
Halo 1 best single player of the series, good multiplayer for its time.
Halo 2 alright single player(worst of the series), great multiplayer huge improvement over the first one.
Halo 3 better single player, a step back in multiplayer imo.

i said multiplayer and the forge is Halo 3's saving grace. So bungie did a good job with that. THANK YOU Bungie. Now thats over. My point was on how sub par the single player was. I always felt that HALO 1 and 2 were strong titles because they offered great single player campaign outside of its godly multiplayer. Halo 3 didnt deliver at all.

Not really.

Halo 3 had poor level design compared to the first two series.

Halo 3 had more generic levels than the previous games.

Halo 3 single player campaign offered less diversity than the previous two games.

The graphics is my opinion, but honestly does no one else see how jagged the game looks?

Are you guys blind to how bad the single player campaign is? Heres a challenge: try to outline the story sequence from missions and see how much sense that makes.

The message your sending is that you look at the bad qualities over the good qualities in Halo 3 and refuse to believ otherwise. Your opinion is made and no matter how many people see Halo as one of the many gems avialable only on the 360 you will think that it sucks.

Also you type very fast and seem to have posts that go on for pages.

At first I thought the grpahics weren't too impressive, but that's only for most of the maps in multiplayer. For example the pit looks like Halo 2, but the forest type area in single player is pretty impressive, along with the road to voi. I think the game is pretty solid, but I didn't really like the sinlge player at all...

Okay, yes, my expectations are high, because its HALO. And my expectation were high after Halo 1, Halo 2 delivered and Halo 3 didnt. I dont see why the Halo community should all of a sudden lower their expectations. I mean we critique other games so intensely that we cant do it for our one game? I love halo multiplayer by the way and I enjoy halo 3 in that aspect. But isnt it a bit sad that now we only have Halo 3 multiplayer to praise. We sort of lost single player.

And I do play on a samsung HDTV, 1080i 40 inch. Halo 3 is the only jagged game.

isnt anyone else pist off about paying for Halo 3 legendary map pack? The fact that Bungie is requiring the download on the better game rooms makes me feel that they're milking us for money.

Dont you think its bad for bungie to hear all these praises from the die hard fans who obviously lost their ability to critique constructively anymore? It seems to me that the Halo community needs people who will point out where Halo 3 went wrong, so Bungie can freshen up and deliver the best next game.

I do love multiplayer halo 3.

Wow, that was the most stupidest thread of the day since you said you were dissapoined in Halo 3. Ok if you hate Halo 3 then say it by yourself rather then say around the world when they won't care dude, I'll be laughing if you post this on a Bungie.net forum but oh well. Anyway Halo 3 have an awesome campaign and it's not as repetitive as Halo CE (still good game but not better then Halo 3), also the Campaign maybe short (10-12 hours) but it was phenomenal since you could play 4 player online CO-OP flawless and that's amazing since Halo 3 got a good storyline in the game so that you won't be upset playing on Legendary by yourself, lol. Now the multiplayer, The multiplayer maybe not the best in the series but it was the most fun multiplayer in the console and i never, ever get lag in the game but if you do then buy a new connection so that you don't have to whine over your connection retards. The features are awesome anyway but that's not the point, The multiplayer has a Matchmaking mode which is a step back from Halo 2's matchmaking but different, It has ranks, it has Social and Rank playlist or else Double experience weekend (only for Thursdays through Monday's only) and those gametypes in the Game is so much fun but problem is is the Community, The community is far the worse community on the 360 but just get some friends then it's really fun seriously but theres also a mute option which people don't know nowadays since there stupid but it's there to help you to get off a fight on xbox live or else squeeky voices, So yeah the Mute option really made this game better rather then listening some gay Trash talkers in the game. That's it so that's my opinion and don't bash it.

Just please dude don't make no more stupid topics if your upset over a game, Geesh that's just old hearing the same old stuff everyweek on this forum so please make no more topics, PLEASE i'll be glad to.

ok this thread was a huge waste of my time, i came here expecting an actual debate over things that would actually make this game suck, all i see from the Topic Creator, is B***hes and gripes, because he did not like the campaign, and to top it all off, most of his arguments are juss BS, complaining about the graphics that they were horrid? what are you kidding me? those graphics were astounding

Then he complains over the weapons, that the only neat feature was the ability to rip a turret off and carry it around, so i suppose the whole "Equipment" part is juss horrid as the graphics, as well as the tweaks made to the weapons to make them more effective in there own way, and i guess the return of the Assualt Rifle is juss stupid aswell, not to mention the 2 new grenades, and the new vehicles, i guess all of it was just tacked on at the very last minute.

While multiplayer did have a lack of maps, thats understandale, the team that created the game, most likely were busy getting everything else ready in the game that they probably decided to make some new maps later and distribute them on XBL Marketplace, thats the more intelligent thing to do when making a game that runs smoothly with a very little number of errors

But overall i beleive that he let the negetive comments from others GET to him, and influence his overall judgement of the game, there fore, when played, hes only looking for the negatives, and he found somthing that he dissapproved of, it would only re-enforce his already influenced mind into disliking the game even more, heck he already had VERY HIGH expectations as it is, he prolly though that Cortana would move into his computer and become his own personal Porn A.I.

I think this thead is as much as an attack on die hard halo 3 fans who refuse to see the game as anything but godly. I obviously love the multiplayer but the whole problem is how much people rave about multiplayer and refuse to talk about anything else. Bungie probably think that multiplayer is the only important aspect of Halo and thats what they focused on for this game. But if thats what the focus is on, they will only deliver half of the possible gaming experience.

We paid 60 for a new halo game, Bungie should just charge us 30 for a new multiplayer update.

I thought Halo 3 was awesome... I see what you are saying though... It didn't really do too much to move the series forward.

By no terms is it a bad game in any aspect though.

horrible graphics!? are you blind?! the graphics are better than any halo game before it, and better than most games to date. You need to take a step back, and look at the game as a whole, instead of comparing it and finding every little thing to complain about. Halo 3 is a great game, one of the best yet, and if you don't agree, stop playing it. Go back to halo 2 or 1, and leave people who love halo 3 alone. The games been out for a year and your just now complaining about it? if you don't like it, play something else. simple as that.Atreyu606

The game looks great graphically, everyone wants Halo 3 to be a perfect game but it isn't live with it guys/girls.

If Bungie expect me to pay for a sub par game again, they're dreaming.

wile315

oh boy another one of these topics.ok we get it you think halo sucks.so do a lot of other people. SH!T if you like the game play it if you dont, dont play it. does it really make yourself feel better that you really wasted a few minutes complaining about the same thing like evryone else

I do agree halo 3 was a dissapointment compared to the previous 2, and the graphics are sub-par compared to games coming out nowadays. I personally got bored of it, you do the same thing in every match, and there's no strategy involved.

yes, the single player was tedious, I didn't like it very much (although I beat it on Legendary). But with all that being said, I don't despise the game, it's just it's not really all that great imo. Gameplay got old for me a long time ago.

Now I read someone elses post saying blog this, and yes, that's exactly what you should do. As for posting it on Bungie and letting other random people flame you, I don't think it's worth the time, but w/e lol...

It seems to me that the Halo community needs people who will point out where Halo 3 went wrong, so Bungie can freshen up and deliver the best next game.

you need to get a better tv, cause I play on a HD tv and the game is gorgeous. The campaign is great, the multiplayer is amazing, the new game machanics are always fun, and the game is all around amazing. If you want a game thats completely campaign (cause thats what you seem to be focusing on) play bioshock. Halo 3 is one of the best games I've played, and I still play it daily, a year after its release. Your expectations are way too high, and I think you should learn to enjoy the game as it is, or stop playing it.

The fact that Bungie is requiring the download on the better game rooms makes me feel that they're milking us for money.

ill send you money so you can wipe your tears ok. your probrably one of those people who think that call of duty 4 is the greatest game ever made. In my opinion that game sucked. Halo 3 concluded the story. if you wanted it to be more like 2. you should write to bungie and say ask them to make you a special copy of 2 with updated graphics. But remember to ask them to wipe their A$$ with it first before they send it to you.

Rofl, apparently, no one on this forum cares about single player or tries to hold it up against the light. My whole point was on single player and that Bungie is only delivering half the gaming experience by focusing on the multiplayer portions.

There were alot of details added into Halo 3. Equipment, weapon balancing, different grenades, melee attack adjustments, etc. The addition of new vehicles and battles against the scarub helped to enlarge the scope of this game. I thought that nearly all the battle against the scarub and anything with vehicles invovled were the best part of the game. It was challenging and at the same time one of Halo 3's best aspects.

But that was it! Name one more thing about the 12 hours of single player that you enjoyed.

Hmmm other than the fact that me and my friends still play single player, with all the skulls turned on, and playing to see who can get a higher score from the start to the finish? yea we done gone passed 12 hrs of single, heck we may have been broken 250 hrs barrier at this point, thats when were not playin the horrid multipayer for Gears (hopefully 2 will be better) or CoD4, yea i enjoy the game very much, im getting WAYYYYY more out of my 60 bucks, that you obviously are, and im not just focusing on single player, Forge was an EXCELLENT addition, i play Multiplayer juss as much as Single, but thats when more of my friends wanna play and we wanna go teams online, etc etc etc.

by the way if u gettin rid of the helmet, send it my way, it'll be a FINE addition to my collection

as for single player... what MORE do you want? it was the END of this trilogy, the Aribiter's role was finished, he was nessecary for the downfall of the covenat, what more could he be involved with? the game was Master Chief's Spotlight anyways, the Flood ran rampant once again, and posed a serious threat, and the covenant was thru, so basically and the loose ends were being tied up, what more could have been done? you tell me since you seem to be teeming with ideas for it, o and dont try and say, that u juss go from point A to B, watch a cut-scene here and there, shoot people, ride a vehicle, shoot some more, REPEAT, because they were ALL like that

ROFL, and you're probably one of those die hard halo nerds who wear master chief costumes. Heres my advice to you, get Bungie's balls out of your mouth, and try to see how bad the single player actually was. maybe then you will have actually used your brain and thought about the game as a whole to see its goods and bads.

smart ass remarks deserve to be shot down brutaly.

[QUOTE="Heroldp813"]Honestly i'm like 2 more threads away from reporting people b/c this is obliviously trolling and isn't this the 10th "I Hate Halo" thread out here. I'm gonna find out if this is trolling and you better hope to God they say no b/c this is getting real annoying, save room for more improtant issues, not just so you can see how many posts you can get.patrickhorta87

oh no the gamespot security guard. dude let him rant because people are going to make him feel stupid.

Make me feel stupid? So are you gonna be the one to do that? Who cares what you think?. Anyway Halo3 the game is the #1 game on Xbox live right now, so explain to me how it's a disappointment for millions of people, and if you think this thread is cool then maybe you missed the 80 similar ones like it

oh actually buddy boy. im sorry i probrably spend maybe 5 hours a week playing video games. i have a life. i save animals lives for a living. i go to school. i dont sit at home and have time to play a game just to point out its negative areas. no game is perfect. you people hype up a game and expect perfection. no game is perfect if you think so then your an idiot. there will be hater s and there will be die hard fans. i honestly thought the only good halo was the first one. but the 3rd was not bad. you point out all the problems that everyone else points out. get off the bandwagon and move on. its been a year.honestly wait until gears or fable comes out i hope your not going to be one of those who bash those too. oh and the part about bungies balls in my mouth.then they must have there shaft in your A$$ because your the only one complaining. so i will say stuff to hurt the dumb.your one of those people who like to antagonise the forums and the responders. just to get your jollies offpatrickhorta87

ROFL, what a load of bull. Theres one thing I never do, I never water down my comments to stereotypical generalizations. How did I know that someone of your calibur would use lame comebacks life..'i have a life'. You're saying that i antagonise the forum and the responders just to get my jollies off, well you sir did not try to see me point at all. If you actually read intelligently, you would have noticed that the first thread was to point out how Halo 3 compares with its predecessors. Its meant to antagonize bungie and the fanboys who think halo is perfect. If you cant stand other people saying anything other than OMG Halo is the best game ever, I suggest yourself to take a good look in the mirror, and when you wake up tomorrow, just wear that Halo Fanboy name tag proudly.

No game is perfect, but acclaimed blockbuster hits have a responsibility to deliver. People who shell out sixty + dollars for a game deserve quality. If every single consumer bought games and never second guessed the developer's design, there would never be progress in the industry. This thread is not to antagonize people who love halo 3, but if it so happens that your pride is so how hurt by what I say in my thread, then you're probably more fond of Halo than you should be.
