I "Accepted" the first one, thought the second was identical with new features.
I guess the story isn't flushed out enough for me, I didn't feel for any of the characters, I wouldn't have cared if the master chief was replaced by Steven segal. The feel of it was very plastic, the killing was no fun for me. I'm not a big fan of colorful aliens and purple blood, and squeeking midgets. Had it been human faction vs human factions with more spartans, I'd probably be singing a diffrent tune. Only thing that was epic imo was the music.
I didn't think it was a really bad game, but I also thought it felt more like an expansion then a sequel. Halo 2.5 is more like it. The gameplay is pretty much identical with a handful of new weapons/vehicles. Out of the big new features: online co-op, replays, and forge, co:op was the only one that really enhanced the gameplay. Forge would have been cool if you could search for custom games. And all the replays did for me is let me show people all the BS in this game like plasma nades going right through people and other players getting shot through shield doors.
I played Halo 3 for about a week and a half before saying to myself, "Wow. This is the same game I got sick of playing 4 years ago."
Whats similiar to being raped up the arse by a horny virgin panda while visiting the zoo with you girl? Not Halo 3...but it does rival the pain as well as embaressment. Halo 3 is liivng proof that the EA'sand Namco marketing strategy sells. Make the same game, add one new component and sell it for 60 bucks. While laugh as a bunch of gaming retards purchase it treat it as a God. And sing forth holy psalms. You'd be better off contracting an STD rather then play this game. The campaign is wretched, makes me wish I never got involved with the fight. The online is the same as Halo 2...which means we have all been there and done it already. Halo 3 could best be described as George bush. It free loads off of the success of it's predecessor. And rather then improve upon anything...itrather decides to simply worsens it's own name. You'd be better off playing Red steel for the Wee (Yes I know thats not how you spell it.) Then even renting this eye sore of a console game.
I love the game it is a brilliant move by Bungie. However it is not the best game ever ther are some things it could have dont better. But you still have to admit it is a fun game multiplayer is great especially if you have Live and now with this Hopper and Autoupdates it is constantly changing. Halo: CE was one of THE BEST games EVER and if you dont like it then, well last time I said what you are I almsot got banned, but still it did what its name said it evolved combat. Halo haters keep your stupid not-thought out opinions to yourself.
I thought it was great. I loved Halo 2 and 3. CE was the worst one imo. Just going through the same room about 50 for half of it. But I used to really hate Halo until I played my friend's Halo 2 a few months ago, so maybe thats why it lived up to my expectations in the end. Still, I much prefer it to The Orange Box.. even Gears.cheames748
LOL. The rooms were really repetative. I think the devs had had about 7 rooms designed, and they just clicked and dragged them onto the map. Still a great game, though.
For those of you saying it is boring, or not hard enough, try it on legendary.:)
Overrated. Oh, so overrated. It's not like it is a horrible game, but ti felt more like Halo 2.25 then a new title. YourLastDay86
Lol, I totally agree. Halo 3, is like Halo 2 "jacked up" on steroids. But even for next-gen standards the graphics didnt support 720p HD and up. It supported 480p. Go figure. Although, it can be easily overlooked by some, I couldnt help but to come up with a self-acclaimed title, Halo 3: Return of the Jaggies. Haha jk..
People ask, is Halo 3 overrated? Definitely. Aside from the cool vehicles and amazing co-op, there arent many new things to offer that would separate Halo 3 from it's predecessors. I purchased Halo 3 because I was craving for another shooter, after completing Gears of War. Excellent game btw.
Halo 3 was great, but not superb. They could have worked hard at making this new installment different from it's predecessors and counterparts, but it failed. Not to be alarmed, Halo 3 still has its perks like co-op, forge, multiplayer, and achievements that gives this game so much replayability.
I just don't think that I will ever get tired of playing the single player. I've watched all the videos a million times, and it just looks really cool. I guess everything in the games just strikes the exact right cords with me. It seems strange that so many of you don't like it that much.mechworrior762dude seriously, i mean if you really like it that much then i respect your opinion, but wait until you actually play it.

Agreed. Human Spartans vs. Human Colonial rebels would be much more interesting. That's the war the spartans were designed to fight anyway.

That would be cool. Halo: Civil War?

you mean like almost every other sequal ever created?
I own both Call of Duty 4 and Bioshock. Completed both one time and forgot about them. Halo series is a different story. I played the first Halo 20+ times, most of the time on legendary, and I'm finishing Halo 3 the fifth time now. And that's only single player, I recently bought my XBox 360 and it isn't even connected to net... So yes, Halo series is one of the best, for me at least, while the first part stands beside Half-Life and I consider it to be one of the best FPS games of all time. Halo 1 does what it promises, it evolved the combat and the gameplay, and not the level design was it's key strength. Halo 3 however, improves that gameplay to perfection, nearly gets rid of all mistakes from the first and second part, every component works together like it should (the one it fails, though, is the story, it could be done a lot better, if supported by the books). So like I said, I have other great shooters, but only Halo 3 makes me return to play the single player, over and over again, till I play on legendary difficulty with ease... Deadalus_
You're my kind of guy:D (not in a gay way, of course.)
