halo 3 heroic map pack

does anybody know when the halo 3 heroic map pack become free on xbox live arcade?

i dont really want to pay 800 gamer points if it'll be free in a few weeks

Anyone know whether players w/o the maps can play on them if i own them? I'd be willing to fork out the points for my next Lan party.

next year, the new maps aren't even that good though.

my friends have them and they are nowhere near worth their steep price point.
