How can you start saying all of this?
You've only watched a video on the internet, and you havn't even played the game yet.
The best thing for people like you is to play the Beta, and then play the full game. Because theirs no way you can judge graphics at the moment.
Not that I don't have this game pre-ordered and at the top of my must have list, but judging from everything I've seen lately the game's graphics don't appear to really be anything to get excited about. Is it possible that Bungie started developing it so long ago that they were too far along when the new graphic engine's came out to switch? What do you think?Tweep
Ew hell no. Leave UE3 to Gears and UT3 not Halo.

and the graphics for halo3 WILL get better!

I am hopeful and agree. If the graphics do end up looking like their original trailer (as stated) I will be the FIRST one to log on to these forums and eat crow. :o
I dunno what you saw, but I thought the newest gameplay vids looked pretty damn close to the original trailer. Lookl at the pics. The character models are getting there. I have no complaints about the graphics.

If that was true we all would still be playing Atari 2600's
but people could like the gameplay more in other games.
are you kidding me? do you realize if bungie would use the unreal 3 engine for halo3 then there would be that bullet lag crap just like in gears of war. the unreal engine using server side hit detection and you odnt want to play halo3 with that crap..it already ruined gears but im glad we have halo3 without server side hit detection. the graphics are fine..you are too picky if you dont think they look good or maybe you tv is crap? either way halo3 defintately does not need the unreal enginemother_farter
The way the unreal engine handles online is pretty bad with the bullet lag.......Oh yeah and just because its unreal tech doesnt mean bungie will be adding a huge amount of detail to there levels. THey have always been about big vibrant environments instead of wartorn environments that u need a bunch of crack and carving details. The Unreal engine is great but halo would look like halo regardless what engine it used.
No. Halo 3 right now has sharp textures, 60 FPS, no jaggies (not many I see), etc. The looks fine now, and it will only get better. The Unreal Engine will mess it up. And Cliffy B did not create the Unreal Engine. He thought of the concept of Gears, and some other things. He's a designer (right?).After_Math
Since when has halo ran at 60fps. It runs at 30 always has. Not that its bad but get ur facts straight.

Stop kidding yourself. They are using the Halo 2 engine and you can only do so much with something that was made for the last generation. And it is not like they have to do much to the gameplay since Halo is Halo. They only tweak things like weapon power and add new weapons and items. But they have so much time to work on the game and this is how good it is going to look. The reason you get a new system is for the graphics and the games that will take advantage of it. Why not just make it for the first xbox if you are just going to take that mentality?

Have you seen the HD Beta videos? Go watch it, it looks a lot nicer.

Right now doesn't it run in 60 FPS though, it looks ultra smooth to me. Anyways, Emo Parker in Spiderman 3 was funny :P
First of all, what you saw was multiplayer graphics. The multiplayer's graphics were simplified to keep the framrate at a consistent 60 fps. If you read EGMs aricle about Halo 3, they say that the single player modes' graphics were amazing and way better than the multiplayer. Did you even see the anouncement trailer? If anyone doesnt know already, thats real time.martialbulletThe rumor about halo 3 doing 60 fps is rumored stated by bungie. The announcement trailer are what they "shooting for in real time".Not neccesarly what the game will look like.We can all pray it does.

Dude man, the engine doesn't effect the gameplay except how it looks. Compare Lost Oddysee to Gears of Wars, two totally different games. If you played Unreal Tournament, you know the Multi-player is way different than Gears. Gears is slow and laggy. Unreal Tournament has always been fast and crazy. Compare Unreal Tournament 2004 to Halo 2 MP and Halo 2 MP is crap, but that's because Unreal Tournament is made for MP. Rainbow Six: Vegas doesn't suffer from Bullet Lag.

Thats quite true. R6:V is made on the same engine and while is looks nice it's no GoW and that new zombie game with the 4 kids looks awful in the graphics department so the engine makes no difference. Please Log In to post.
