Halo 3 has better multiplayer action but Call of Duty 4 has better multiplayer. I would go with call of duty because you won't be playing campaign forever but you will mostly be playing multiplayer. Decision: Call of Duty 4
Call of Duty 4kills Halo 3 in single player. Multiplayer is close, but I have to give it to Call of Duty. Every other category (graphics, sound, presentation, fun) CoD4 wins hands down. It's just a better quality game.
I've been playing Halo multiplayer since 2002... playing Combat Evolved over XBConnect. I still think Combat Evolved is one of the top three single player experiences ever. I LOVED Halo 2 and i spent countless hours playing and owning but Halo 3 seems like it's missing something. The gameplay and the guns are i.m.o. perfectly balanced but it just seems different. It doesn't make me want to keep playing 'til 3am like Combat Evolved and Halo 2 did.
...Which brings me to Call of Duty 4. Single player is amazing in every aspect and the multiplayer is so refreshing. The maps are nicely mapped out and the game is beautiful. I think the fact that you've got so many choices on how to fight and what guns to use makes it a new experience everyime you pick the controller up. You're rewarded for every single thing except dying.
So as far as my choice for multiplayer, I'd have to go with CoD4 but nothing can beat the familiar feeling of sticking someone with a plasma grenade.
Halo 3 has better single player but the awesome multiplayer of COD4 makes it the winner. Halo 3 seems to be getting a bad rep at the moment though and its totally undeserved. Even if its the cool thing to bash Halo its still a great game

Both multiplayers are fun, but in COD 4's multiplayer there's more to do: unlock weapons and attachments, gain ranks, complete challenges, etc, as opposed to just ranks in Halo 3.

yeah the ai in cod4 is pretty nice tho... but theres one more major problem with cod4 if anyone asks I will explain but it might take me a while...

See I know your a Halo3 Fan boy but give COD4 credit when credit is due. No one said "Halo 3 sucks, COD 4 is way better" they gave Halo some credit because it is a pretty good game. But I own both of them and COD4 is getting played more so I would have to say COD. Halo isnt too bad though

I have seen people say that... and I just said single player stinks not multiplayer, multiplayer is pretty sweet and I especially like that you can make a "final stand"

actually people have said that about halo3... which is sad cuz it is a good game... anyway I do like the multiplayer in cod4 especially the "final stand" you can make... very creative....
Call of Duty 4 single player has a lot of WOW moments, which Halo 3 doesn't have any. Halo 3 single player was nothing special, it was boring for me in my opinion. I'm enjoying more on Call of Duty 4, its just so good. Halo 3 multiplayer got repetitive in like 2 weeks. So COD4 FTW.
I prefer COD4. It just has an overall better feeling to it and the community as a whole is a lot more mature then that Halo community. Sure, you'll encounter an idiot or two every now or then, but not nearly as frequently as you will while playing Halo 3. COD4 gives you a reason to play with unlockables where as Halo 3 got old quickly b/c I felt like I wasn't playing for anything.
Why must you all push COD4 on me? I don't have anymore money for more games, and I STILL haven't played Bioshock yet, and still you push and push and push... Guess I'll just have to go pick this up this weekend.
Call of Duty 4 has a great ranking system. It is unfair when you start out though because everyone else has a better gun than you with better scopes and more perks, COD 4 may also go seemlessly together with its mutli and single player games, yet there is nothing in cod 4 that is as much fun as lasering a banshee, sticking someone with a plasma or spike grenade, getting a quadruple kill, or going on a killing frenzy. Halo is just a more fun game.(not that cod 4 isn't, but halo is much more)
COD4 didn't seem like I thought it would be. Multiplayer was horrible and single player was short. I loved Halo 3. It is one of the greatest online multiplayer games ever and the campaign and story are epic to say the least. COD4 did have better graphics though.
I love CoD4, the multiplayer is good and even though single player is short it was still great to me especially on harder levels, Halo 3can't compete IMO.
