Halo 3 Skulls need help

Can anyone tell me when i find a skull what do

i do with it?

do i just pick it up and drop it

or

do i justcarry it with me thoughout the level?

You need only pick it up, you don't have to carry it through the level. Once you've picked up, your done. You can quit the level. You can find videos showing the location of each skull on youtube.

whats funnys it that i picked up the skull on the first level

and i not get any achievement

in order to get the achievements for the gold skulls you have to be playing on a setting higher than easy i believe (all of the levels have a gold skull and the ark , the covevant, crow's nest and 117 all have one sliver skull each )
