you can't compare a game that was released to a game that wasn't. for all we know, halo 3 can be a suprising disappointed, however i do expect it to be good.

Well you can compare them in a topic called Halo 3 Vs Gears of war. I think it's safe to say Halo 3 will be better. 4 player co-op, better online play, and the tried and tested Halo gameplay.

Plus I thought Gears was over rated, good game but I've played better on 360.

gears is a bad ass game but i think the lack of vehicles and weapons will hurt it in this match up

It's crazy how people continue to compare these 2 games....of course the majority is going to say Halo(ME NOT BEING ONE OF THEM) but it is really an unfair comparison.Halo3 is an established franchise and has had the advantage of looking back on it's predecessors and listening to fan feed back in order to make major improvements..and from what most of us know about the beta...Halo's game-play has hit the wall.(FLAME SHIELD ON) Geow is in it's infancy's stage and can only get better.So for now Halo wins hands down, but ask this question 3yrs from now.

couldn't have said it any better myself. the one thing i believe sets the games apart though is the fact that halo's multiplayer runs off of servers. it does get kinda old to constantly have host advantage or slight bullet lag.

Don't get me wrong,I still love the halo franchise but how much more can you improve the game-play(which is still awsome) I'm pretty sure that thet are going to add vehicle's and other elements to Geow over the next few years.

The games are completely different. On is an FPS other is a TPS.

Gears has the best deaths in any game ever, I can't play Rainbow six vegas or Halo 2 after I play Gears because when you or someone else dies, it's too boring. And I like the take cover combat. So Gears. I don't need vehicles or a billion weapons. But Halo 3 is looking awesome. There pretty different, it depends on taste really.MuffinPunk
