Personally i would have to say (and hope) that it is a CQC (close quarters combat for all those who havent played MGS3) cause the whole hitting the guy with the but of your gun thing is gettin really old really fast.

I agree the shield bubble you are talking about is a grenade no its not that was confirmed at 1up there is one pear shaped grenade that no one knows what it does but there is nothing shaped like the shield grenade

Im sure its going to be short of spectacular whatever it is. What else can they add other than a new weopon or defense of somekind. Maybe that shield that Master Chief deploys on the CG trailer is linked to the x X button?
a beserk mode maybe? or a different visor. like thermal or infra red. i don't think it will be a bubble shield, you already have a normal shield, and what would be the purpose of an overshield? If they have the bubble shield it will be activated by a grenade like in the commercial. i can't see bungie putting in a cover system. NEW IDEA: Active camo like the elites have. That would be sweet.

except for the fact that he was holding a granade. And that would get exploted like crazy if it was just a button Yeah, in the "Starry Night" video, the MC clearly throws a grenade or device of some sort, there's almost no way it'll be used for that

ha, never thought of that, that would be cool... although bungie, in their FAQ, mentioned the possibility that whatever was going to be at the X button might not still be mapped to that
