Halo nerds... help

Well, it had been ages since i had finished Halo 2 so i decided to look up the series on Wikipedia to refresh my meory on the story. My eyes strayed, however, and i ended up looking at the stroyline of the books, where it said tat their were many Spartans not just 117

DOes anyone know why 117 has been portrayed as a sole survivor of his kind in the games yet is actually not?

Or am i just horribly mistaken !

They put the MCa as the sole survivor because if other wise they would confuse the avarage gamer. The other spartans are in Ghost of Onix, as shield world constructed to protect any kind of life form from teh flood and Halo's weapon. Ghost of Onix is not a "bunker", it is really a sphere. This sphere is a planet that has a reduce matrix and can only be reached via slipspace travel. Read the books for further info.

Because he doesn't know that the rest of the spartans are allive.
