As long as it uses a different engine than Halo 3 then I'm fine, they need running mechanics to improve online and campaign mobility (evading enemies in campaign mode)
True, but the power of Halo 3's engine isn't in the lighting or textures, but rather in the fact that everything in the environment plays off of each other, and the fact that every level has a meticulous amount of detail. So much detail that I would make the argument that no game has more to this date. After all, it had to be ridiculously detailed in order to allow people to fly around in theater mode going over every corner of the map and watching the different stages of a grenades explosion. Was Halo 3 the best looking game in 2007? No, CoD 4 and Gears of War both looked better, but neither of those games has to flesh out the environment the way Halo 3 did in order to have theater. The Halo 3 engine is anything but perfect, tonnes of games with better physics/graphics/etc. It'll probs be a different engine

Hopefully this link works :P
This video tells you wat is going to be in reach wat it is based on.
I'de like to see expensive cinematic cut scenes, like the ones that the developers included in 'Halo wars'.. I'm happy with bungies gameplay.
[QUOTE="alfredooo"]Man it better have running!!!! I have played halo since day one but since games like CoD have come out and others, I can't stand not being able to run. Ironic that halo 2 was suppose to have run but canned it. I don't know if anyone has posted this but i'm pretty sure they are putting a sprint in reacha beta for the gameplay will be released so reach will run in a different engine than halo 3, where the gameplay was pretty much tweaked to perfection. so what gameplay changes should we expect on halo reach? (assuming you play as a spartan) running woul be kinda cool i guess
how do you think bungie will improve the gameplay?

what do you mean by running?:? can you only walk in halo 3?
zero9167
yes you walk but seeing as you are a 7 foot super soldier then to everthing else your running never saw it as a problem really and it would kill the continuity of the story why would you run in a prequal then not in the games set later?
1. No sprinting. It would simply not work in Halo. Just think for a moment about what Halo multiplayer would be like with sprinting. Yeah. Not very pleasing.
2. The ability to pick up Jackal shields. Not just that, though. The abillity to pick up corpses and use them as meat-shields(like in Gears of War 2). While using shields, you would only be able to use single-handed weapons such as the SMG and pistol.
3. I'd like to see something like Uncharted 2's climbing system.
4. Machinima mode, like in Uncharted 2.
5. Destructible environments, like Red Faction: Guerilla and Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
6. The ability to tag enemies(D-pad right) and set waypoints(D-pad left).
7. Tagging enemies in single player will control your AI squadmates to make that enemy a priority and setting waypoints will command them to go to that position. To command a single squadmate, point at them, press the squad select button(D-pad down), and then administer the command as you would normally. To select multiple, simply point at each squadmate you want to select and press the squad select button. To unselect all, simply double-tap the squad select button. To unselect them individually, point at a selected squad member and press the squad select button. It would be e very simple command system that would give you more control over what your squadmates do, so they don't die as much. This could also be implemented into multiplayer, but it would simply be a suggestion instead of direct control over your squadmates. Also, there could be an option to disable someone's commands by double-tapping the X(mute player) button in the player menu.
8. I think there was a patch in Halo 3 that prevented me from recording Campaign footage in Theatre mode. I would like that feature to return.
9. Make aim assist optional.

kid of weird that the halo game is based off a halo book..... dude every halo was based off the books. they arn't down to detail but 4real it was. and u wanna know whats weird a game based off a book is good and a game based off a movie is horrible lol

None of the 4 Halo games were based off of a book... The books were all side stories of the actual games. Halo Reach will be the first one to be based off of a book.
havea read of Larry Niven's RINGWORLD, its an older sci fi novel. its quite small considering it sits next to the Dune saga on my shelf but its obvious that most of Halo were heavily inspired by RINGWORLD.
I hope it's a Marathon remake but with the Halo name on it just so people will get interested and so it will sell a billion copies.
I heard its about the novels Halo Reach, where its way before Halo 1. It has more Spartans. Actually the Book doesn't take place on Reach that much.yeh it would kill them to add a sprint button, cause unlike in CoD, it takes more than one shot to kill someonewouldnt kill me if they didnt add a sprint button. mw2 gets chaotic with the running and slicing mad men. i want jet packs like the brutes in Halo 3. im a sucker for jet packs in games, lol
