We all know Halo.
And with the release of Halo Wars and soon to be Halo 3 ODST.
My question is, has bungie gone to far with halo and are simply milking us for all our cash?
Or are they necessary games in the sequel?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
imo they've been too far
i stopped playing halo 3 when they put mythic maps on most playlists, and didn't like halo wars.
and the price of ODST is clearly too much for me even though i would finally get the mythic map pack
i will probably not buy any halo franchise game from now and save for other games
[QUOTE="a55a55inx"]True.why point the finger at Bungie? They didn't even develop Halo Wars... MS is most likely the one producing every Halo game.

very true, gow117 also has a point. I don't like how bungie is constently being refered to as a dev that milks the halo series. But think about it there isn't a week that goes buy that someone posts a form about halo 4. imo the reason bungie is still making these games is because the community wants them. Just because you don't want it or like the series from your perspective you think it was all bungies or microsofts idea when in reality i think the reason for more games is as i said before people wanting more halo games.
Its a economic hard ship right now and what ever These companys need to do to stay afloat and to be around in the fture, it better then bankrupt, I actually Have all the map packs and i always buy um thinking it will get me into halo MP but it never does,I did enjoy the campain mode, The hopping/lasers and screaming LIL kids in the mics are to much......
I read somewhere that halo is The start treck for this generation LOL after trying everyshooter out There the CODZ and Gears Allways tickle my pickle and every thing elese seems to fall by the way side for multiplayer Shooters, GTa was fun before Turbos
Tons of people are still buying these games and they are still doing well. Halo Wars was a very competent RTS game on consoles and was easy to use despite the normal RTS nuiances that prevent them from being playable on consoles. Mythic maps on every playlist? Of course they want you to get their DLC. What company releases a product and doesn't want people to buy it? Look at CoD:WaW, from my knowledge (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) but the new maps are played in every playlist that I've played. But Halo is going too far because they do it too? CNUrGames
i love halo read my above post but the diffrence is that when cod 4 or 5 puts it in every playlist you can still play, the game just knows you don't have the maps and disables them for you, Halo doesn't
Interested on your thoughts on Halo Wars after you play it. I don't like RTS much but HW was a lot of fun. I'm not worried about Bungie screwing it up, it's if it goes to other devs down the road that worries me. I love the Halo universe, so I'm all for more of it, by Bungie.elpooz i agree that they are good games, but i cant seem to think that they are being dragged out a bit
i mean im buying halo wars this week and pre ordering ODST.
i just hope bungie doesn't go too far and ruin it

I still enjoy halo and really is the map pack THAT much money to be complained about. I hope they continue to make more halo games and I woulkd like to see mastercheif as a useable character in later games.
I wish that Bungie or whoever makes new Halo games would get back to what made Halo CE one of the greatest console shooters of all time. For me, these are the things that have ruined Halo as a series...
1. The Brutes! I consider the Brutes to be the "Ewoks" of the Halo series. Like Halo, Star Wars was going along just fine with A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back and then Gearge Lucas decided he needed to make a movie that 4 year olds would like. The Brutes are useless Imo. It should have just stayed humans Vs. The Covenant.
2. Dual Weilding in both campaign and especially in multiplayer. This is why Imo, Halo CE's multiplayer although only available through system link/LAN is vastlt superior to Halo 2 or Halo 3.
3. Useable Energy Sword in Multiplayer. One word...CHEAP!!!
4. Map design in Halo 3 is trash in comparison to Halo CE and Halo 2
5. Bungie remakes a bunch of maps, but never ever did we see a redo for Sidewinder, Boarding Action or Rat Race. 3 of the best MP maps ever!!!
it kills me how nintendo can make a mario related game every other month that sells but Halo gets bashed for haveing just 5 Halo related games in a span of about 8 years. Its a multimillion dollar generating machine..makes no sense for them to stop just because a minority want the series to end.

sidewinder remake = avalanche
Bungie listened to the community and remade the maps the fans asked for.
Bungie gets critisized for way to many things yet Halo 2 was and Halo 3 is the #1 most played games on LIVE
If you dont like the sword or dual weilding then make your own custom game and stop complaining
I think they might have gone a bit too far.SoAmazingBaby
Lol Coming from a Zelda fan which has how many games again?
Has Final Fantasy gone too far? Have rhythm games gone too far? Has Mario gone too far? Has Zelda gone too far? Have you gone too far?We all know Halo.

I think the Brutes add a lot to the story. SPOILERS
Brutes are part of the Covenant. Also, I think the Brutes cause one of the best parts of the story: the betrayal of the Elites and their alliance with the humans.
There is nothing wrong with duel wielding and energy swords!
its gone too far with releasing these crappy games wiht the halo name, but as far as innovation, its the same damn game from halo 1, i swear the graphics look like they havent changed at all
What a fresh, original topic. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of games series' which have more titles in them than Halo does right now. Anyone who thinks Halo is milked has absolutely no sense of gaming whatsoever.
My question is, has bungie gone to far with halo and are simply milking us for all our cash?

It is impossible to milk someone for cash with luxury products. I hate to point out something so obvious, but the only person who makes you buy a Halo game...is you.

That is true xD Look at other game franchises and tell me which one's don't have spinoffs and games that aren't canonized to the story. Not really I mean no Halo game has gotten lower than an 8.0 average.. That is considered great so no it hasn't gone too far. Not to mention if you dislike the game don't buy it no one will force you.

That's pretty funny that you actually went and highlighted "8.0 average" up there.
What did you think he meant when he said "average"?

it got a 6.5 on this site u wierdo, wats so funny about it chuckles?
Are you aware that to have an average, you need more than one number? Craig said that no Halo has an average lower than 8.0, so it's painfully obivous that he's talking about the game's score across more than just GameSpot.
But by all means, don't just admit you ****ed up; just call me names and keep trying to argue a non-existent point after correcting someone for a non-existent error.
