i'm going to say go with gears a well, but halo 2 is by no means a bad game.  it's awesome to sit around with a bunch of friends and just do deeathmatch and stuff.  so if you don't have much extra cash on hand, i'd pick up halo 2 sometime

but yeah, if you have to choose, i'd say go with gears. 

i picked halo2

i played recently and had a 100% more fun than gears. graphic are awesome in gears and all....... but gameplay wins in my book.
