I'm pretty sure GRAW would be the hardest. You had to be #1 on the leaderboards for online to get one of them.

RAGINGxPONY
Actually when I was gradually playing I shot up about 5000 spots by simply playing a few solo territories. I'm pretty sure they give you a boost or make some kind of variable that doesn't make it impossible to climb up the GRAW leaderboard in time. I'm not sure about team leaderboards though

Wasn't FEAR a checkpoint-based game?

XxTheFuryxX

My bad, I meant to say he just reset it every time he died.

The game has an instant save feature and detects it. If you die you can't just go back to checkpoint before the game records your data.

People either say it is Cod 4 but it is NOT. In Veteran, you need tactics and play overly aggressive to beat the game's AI. Which was quite easy for some people.

Caddy06_88

CoD4 is nowhere near the most difficult game to get 1000 points on. Sure, if somebody is not good at Call of Duty games, they will have issues, but it's very doable.

Call of duty on Veteran is easy. Once people realize and learn its not about killing the AI but advancing ground you can walk right through it. IW fools people into thinking the objective is to kill the AI, but really its not

With Orange Box it is certainly time consuming, but the only really tough achievement is Aperture Science (Gold medal on all challenge levels). The vast majority of achievements you get by playing through the rest of the games fairly normally, and can all be done in a single playthrough of each (using 2 reloads - 1 for the tin can at the start of HL2, and the other on EP1 trying to get 1 bullet, but also defend the station without loss). Anyway I have 98/99 achievements on Orange Box, only missing Aperture Science. The rarest 1000/1000 I have is SBK08 - only about 250 people have completed it according to MGC - largely due to the challenges being really tough, and requiring a minimum of 12 complete seasons racing (win a season with every team). There are a few games that are damn near impossible to 1000, due to No. 1 in the world requirements. I think GRAW had a few, as did Quake and a few others. Some are possible through boosting, but over time the points required to reach no.1 just gets ridiculous

Well than you must be a master at that game. All the portal gold challenges....finding all those bugs in HL2....there is just so much crap in that game.

The bugs aren't that big of a deal. That's just a one-time run through with a guide. The Portal challenges are hard, but they're not hundreds of hours hard like some things mentioned in this thread.

We are talking about difficulty not time consuming. And c'mon man, using a guide is cheating lol.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the achievement. If you die, anywhere in the campaign, don't you have to start from the beginning again?

Read the thread; most people are talking about achievements that take a lot of time. Furthermore, being good at something is a function of time. How do you get good at a game? You play the hell out of it. What do you need to do that? A lot of time.

No, you are absolutely right my friend.

The only way around this is exiting to the dashboard the very moment you die. Otherwise you have to start the whole game over again.

[QUOTE="Palantas"]FEAR has that stupid "Beat theentire game without dying" achievement. It's unthinkable.XxTheFuryxX

My friend got the achievement on their first play through and they are of average skill, so it's easily doable with a lot of saving.

But then there is the achievement where you have beat the game using less than 500 rounds of ammunition. :| I can use over 500 rounds of ammuntion within the first half hour of the game depending on the shooter, and F.E.A.R. is one of those shooters.....

I wouldn't think the ammo one would be near as big of a deal as the not dying one. You can melee people in the game, so just do that. If you die, try again. With the no-dying achievement, you could be 10 hours into the game, and lost all that progress because of a simple mistake.

that may be hard but its not that hard aside from the gold medals in portal achievements, their mostly just annoying, not challenging anywho, contra was hard, lumines was hard, farcry predator was hard (afterwards i found out you could use cheats :( ) but as for hardest... smashtv, robotron (or w/e its called), most of the early release arcade titles, the guitar hero games (unless ur good, then i guess theyd be easy), and others i cant remember lol

oh! and operation darkness, because it makes you play operation darkness

I've read every post of this thread. The TC's intention, as this thread started out, was about the difficulty of attaining 1000/1000 in a certain game, not about which one took the longest. Yes difficulty can relate to time depending of the player's skill level, but attaining level 75 twelve times like if FF XI has nothing to do with difficulty. If you know how to solve the challenges in portal it takes no time at all. Its just that WITHOUT a guide that game's challenges are quite tough.

full games then prob : Star Ocean The Last Hope, Eternal Sonata or Sacred 2 Fallen Angel, all have some pretty ridiculous achievements

then as far as arcade games go, Trials HD has an insane achievement that requires you to complete all the levels in the game in one go without stopping and without falling off ever, its practically impossible

So, how much time would someone had to put in to get all achievements?

All this came out of the fact that you said The Orange Box is super hard, and when other people told you it wasn't, you decided to start nitpicking everything they (and everyone else) said. The exact same thing happened to me in this thread (FEAR), and instead of starting an off-topic argument, I just dealt with it.

Anyway, I'm not going to argue with you further until you answer this:

Read the topic title, it asks which game is the hardest to get 1000/1000 in, not which game takes the most skill to get 1000/1000 in.white_sox

You should be nitpicking the phrasing of "Hardest game to get" rather than "difficult." Or better yet, you could just drop the whole thing.

I heard that Chromehounds will take you around 900 hours and you have to find a good team.. Yeah relying on others to get achievements is a great thing..
