Has everyone fogotten GTA 4 for GOTY?

It seems that everyone on this forum talks about Fable 2 and Fallout 3 for GOTY but no one talks about GTA 4. Sure Fable and Fallout will be both amazing games but i think GTA 4 really perfected its craft to an extent where it is almost unsurpassable. please post your thoughts, thanks

Well GTA came out way earlier but if it came out now then everyone would be saying it be GOTY for sureraylewisnfl52

True most people have probably gotten bored of it by now and prefer the newer games.

not a chance..i found the game a disapointement really..it doesn´t have the other gta´s excitement but whatever...

fable and farcry look awesome as well but the other two look more promising

GOTY sorry it may have tons of detail and amazing voice acting but its the first GTA ever to become old in a few months its even had a price drop to £19.99 and i could barely sell mine on ebay im afraid gta iv is the worst GTA i have played and look at SR2 it may not be detailed to hell or polished to perfection but its fun and gta 4 aint.

Even more then Mass Effect.

Mass Effect 56 hours I completed doing as much as the side quests as possible.

GTA 4 - 64 hours story complete at abit over 70%.

Your little spell casting nonsense Fable 2 has only 10-15 hours of gameplay so ive read.

Just cos you cant whip up 200hours like you can in San Andreas doesnt meant its rubbish..

I definitely wouldnt want GTA4 for GOTY. It was overhyped, and underfun (yes I just invented a word!)

The old GTAs were a joy to play, whether doing the missions, or just messing around. GTA took away so much of the fun by trying to inject some realism and depth into a game that used to benefit from not having any. Where's my pefect movie-style car handling and fast-paced driving action?

The only good addition to GTA4 was the drunk-driving. The rest was a huge letdown.

I didn't think GTA4 was anywhere near a 10 and there are alot of people who agree. GTA's score has probably drawn more fervor and debate than any other game released. Its odd because its a multiplat so you''d think fanboys would get more attached to the score of an exclusive and go crazy with that.

So yeah, for alot of people GTA4 is a game that was highly rated but far from GOTY (oxymoron).

are you kidding? saints row 2 has way more value than gta...one word makes that more obvious than any...COOP. Not to mention the quality of missions, not being everyones b*** but actually being the leader. The amount of side missions, Insurance fraud...fight club? how is gta even comparable? Get a frickin Head and you know that this isnt know poor mans gta...its a smart mans gta....idiot...no way for goty...neither of those fit that mold...

GTA 4 is forgotten cause the game is so boring, it got bad graphics, bad sound, bad frame rate, bad control, bad gameplay, bad city, bad vehicle, bad game overall, u will know how horrible the game was if u played alot of good games!! i give GTA4 WGOTY award ( WORSE GAME OF THE YEAR!!).

I like it how some say its boring NOW but when they first got it it was heaven to them. This I hear a lot on gaming forums after a couple of months when people do get it the first time its cake but then after its trash. Put that "its boring" to you away and agree that this game is a marvel and deserves GOTY. Those developers work their butts off to create something we've never seen in gaming. Not only is it detailed like crazy and actually makes you feel like your finally part of a living breathing city in a game, its very lengthy and has a good story and everything. In my own defense I have been ragging on GTA4 before it came out, when it came out, and after it came out.

People are now just starting to agree with me :P

I got bored of it after two months. They made the city much smaller, and it's just not as fun anymore to go run around and do stupid crap. They tried to inject realism in it and it failed miserably. It was a marvel in detail, but an average sandbox title gameplay wise.

Everyone can say that FO3 and Gears 2 will get GOTY but they're not even out yet so it's all just speculation.

my thoughts on MGS4. Ive spent more time watching than playing. If I wanted to beat the game in 5hrs (which one of my friends did) I could of.

Omg you kidding Viva Pinata will own all the games for 08 AND 09, lmfao but jokes aside I got bored with GTAIV after 4 hours and it was a shame cause I hyped it like Kung Fu Panda. ;) :P.
