Has your Xbox 360 failed on you? (POLL)

Mine has failed twice.

A couple times it was the red rings and once the disc drive stopped working. I've sent it in three times. The first time was Microsoft's fault since they banned my console at about the time the Halo 3 beta came out and they told me it was modded when it was brand new.

Launch console failed once. Had it repaired, gave it to a friend and bought an Elite.

Yep. My disc drive died about a year ago. It wouldn't read any discs I put it in so I had to send it off. Got a brand new console in the mail about a week later.

Nope, My Elite is 1.5 year old and still kicks as much ass as it did the day i bought it. :)

Got my Xbox for 1,5 Years now and it works perfectly fine. Not even freezes or anything like that.

I got the RRoD once.

My little bro is on his third. He lost the first one due to HD failure. Microsoft then sent him a refurbishbed one that eventually went RROD after about a year. Afterwards he just said F-it and bought an arcade model and used his old hard drive from the second X-Box. He has a lot of money lying around so it wasn't to big of a deal but still.

RROD and a hardware failure. I think number 3 is coming up soon. Xbox keeps overheating with the two red lights and it's not that hot. Plus there is a fan pointed at it. =-(

Nope no issues yet after a year and a half.

No issues. The issues I have seen with friends and family were most likely caused by not being careful about air flow.

Got it at launch...failed after RROD past the 7th month mark.

My friend used to own a 360 Pro and it died after 6 months and he got another one from Microsoft but this one failed again after 5 months.....I was going to get another one but after all these failures....I might just stick to my PS3 and hope for a better next-gen system.

i had a launch console that got rrod, i now have a hdmi model, nearly a year old with no problems so far *touch wood*

Mine hasnt failed yet, but it's only 6-7 months old :D

LOL that sounded dirty. And I gave a friend of mine a launch 360 with the 20 GB HDD and it still runs with no problems, I am currently rocking a Pro and have not had any problems with it since I got it last year (I make sure it is in a well ventilated area), another buddy of mine got an Elite from BB with the service plan and it died within a year, took it in and swapped it for a new one the same day. Other than that, I haven't known anyone who has had problems with their 360's. To the people who claim they have had half a dozen RRODs, I want to see a pic of your setup to make sure you don't have duct tape on the vents to quiet the system down, or have it wrapped in a blanket sitting on carpet :P

mine freezes once in an every blue moon, but that's it.

It scratched up my first Gears copy so badly I couldn't play it, but aside from that (and a few times it froze on me) I've had no problems with it. Hope it stays that way.

yes 3 times but if it fails one more time im going back to playstation its my first xbox i didnt have the original but i had ps,ps2 and psp so i will return to sony if it fails again

So can we conclude the failure rate of the Xbox 360 is somewhere around 70%? It actually is probably higher since many have had it fail multiple times.

My first Xbox was a Pro Bundle manufactured in the summer of '07. It lasted me about 15 months. About a year and a weekof having it the disc drive stopped working so the warranty was just out. I was not paying them 100 bucks to fix it so i took it apart and dusted and cleaned the disc drive and it worked for about 3 more months when my xbox fell victim to the E-74 error. Thing is the warranty was now voided and then they decide to, a few more months later, put the E-74 error under the 3 year warranty and i got jewed out of that so i boughta brand new Jasper arcade and slapped my HDD on it. Now i am happy.
