@kinky-unikorn: Yeah those damn DLC achievements are a dagger to the heart of completionists such as myself lol.

How do you go through so many gamertags, I've had mine since 07 i think, and my GS is at the point were i could never think of starting all over again.

Well, back in high school I had my tag by the name of Porco, then what bugged me was I had like 2 games that my friends had played on my Xbox 360 at the time and logged on like a 10 point achievement for one game and like 40 for another. Random games that I would never probably play. So it just stayed there and it bothered me...lol.I feel it threw off my work for my other games, I try to always at least hit 750 or more points or at least 75%. So I felt compelled to start a new tag and start over fresh. This quickly turned into a bad habit and here I am...lol. 7 tags later...lmao

What I didn't realize was that Xbox removed the feature to be able to delete 0 point achievement games, I thought that was awesome and now it suddenly isn't there anymore? I wish they bring it back, I don't know why features should get removed...lol

I'll usually play a game through, then, if I really enjoyed it, I'll go get those achievements. I've only really done this with a few games though; Fallout 3, Dying Light, Dark Souls, Dark Souls 3, and Just Cause 3.

@codename_v: I'm the same for the most part except when it comes to racing games where i will try to 1000 every game.

@kinky-unikorn:Yeah MS did away with a lot of good features that was on the 360, they should have just transferred them from the 360 to the XB1. I hate how now if you play a demo it goes on your games list on the XB1 which is mind boggling stupid on MS part.

I agree, that was another reason why last year I changed my tag again...lmao. One was because when I tried out the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare trial in the store, it saved the achievements on, which I thought was lame and I made a new one, because I wasn't a fan of Infinite Warfare...lol

Now I kind of stay away from trials and only play demos if anything. Hey I have a question, not sure if you would know, but I have Forza Horizon III on my Xbox One S; physical copy. I haven't played it yet, waiting on getting a 4K TV with HDR, so it's at 0/1500 achievements, if I kept the same tag and decided to buy a copy off the Windows Store for PC, would it overlap the original achievements for the game or create another Forza Horizon III but from the Windows Store and I would be stuck with Forza Horizon III for the Xbox One & Forza Horizon III from the Windows Store as achievements on my profile?

The XB1 & Win 10 version are the same achievement list so if you were to play it for an hour or so and unlocked 2 achievements on you S, but then bought it for Win 10 then you would get both the Win 10 and XB1 digital versions and those achievements you unlocked on the XB1 S will still be unlocked.

The save file, achievements are tied to your account not each version of the game.

@kinky-unikorn: All good, and you're in for a real treat when you do play Forza Horizon 3 as it's one of the best games released this gen. Which reminds me i've got to go back to it again.

What's funny is I've owned the game since Christmas...lmao. Only reason I haven't played it, is I like to play one game at a time with the exception of multiplayer games...lol. Once I finish with the campaign of Battlefield 1 though, it'll probably be my next game to jump into until Andromeda hits...

I'm the same in that i like to play one game complete it and go back and get the achievements and move onto the next game. I try to buy a lot of co-op games so i can play with friends, i don't play much MP these days.

As for Andromeda, i'm not sure when i will buy it, but it won't be for a long while most probably, because i'm just not excited for the game like i was for the 3 previous games.

I enjoy playing online with friends, but I did that for so long on PC that I missed out playing on a lot of single-player games like The Witcher 3 and Tomb Raider that I can name off the top of my head. So now it's like I'm going to focus on those for a bit, my friends can wait...lol. What are you thoughts for Andromeda? At first, when it was announced, I didn't care at all for it. It wasn't up until late last year, when I saw some gameplay videos of it, and it started to grow on me. So now I've been waiting for the game to come out. I might not buy it on launch day, cause I want finish Battlefield 1 & Forza Horizon III, which by the way bro, I got it up and running for PC earlier today, runs pretty smooth; despite my worries with optimization.

Anyways, I want to read some reviews first from a few sites and see how well everything comes out. Most likely next month, I can pick it up. Mass Effect 2 was my favorite...

@kinky-unikorn: I've played and enjoyed all 3 previous Mass Effect games, i even have the full gamerscore for all 3.

Andromeda seems like more of the same, i just wish they created all new species instead of using Asari, Krogan and the like again, it just doesn't feel fresh to me. I might just wait and see if a GOTY version comes out before i buy it.

@i_p_daily: The achievements are a very good progress tracking and record keeping system. If you need to know if and when you played a certain game you only have to look at the achievements and everything comes back to you instantly. That is why I like it. If you haven't got all the achievements it means you haven't explored all the game has to offer (provided the developers have distributed them intelligently of course). So I go get them but haven't got 100% in any game yet. That takes too much time. I'm happy with 60%.

I don't play for achievements at all,I just concentrate on playing to have fun.Currently playing Battlefield 1 multiplayer.

But playing to get the achievements is also fun. And so is getting achievements while playing for fun. Getting achievements is also fun when playing without intending to have fun. Did I miss anything?

@ArchoNils2: I just wanted to get that plat to be in my list and I also think it gives my opinion on the game a bigger weight. If I say that I think FF15 is horrible, owning its plat actually shows I do know what I'm talking about.

That's just it. It's a good record-keeping system and there's no reason not to like it and pretend that ignoring it is cool.

I have about 19-21ish platinum on psn decided it was a huge waste of time and I wasn't enjoying games as much, so I stopped collecting them a few year ago. my backlog is too big is anyway

How about playing for enjoyment the first time, and then doing a second pass just to explore what you missed and collect the achievements/trophies that did not pop during the first go? That's what I do but I haven't got 100% yet.

Very few achievements are well thought out by devs, most rely on difficulty and collectables with little else thrown in.

The bolded part made me lol, i play for fun first and then go back and go for the full 100% and i have a LOT of 100% games, and i could never settle for 60%, to me that's like saying yeah my footy team lost but at least they scored a try :P

Currently being an achievement whore for Dragon Age: Inquisition, I just recently got into being an achievement whore.

The achievements that are placed as milestones make the most sense for me, while the ones that are put behind some impossible task just for difficulty's sake are a chore but feel good when you get them, so I can see the reasoning behind that. What game in your opinion has the best thought-out achievements?

I like your approach, I have a similar one. Yes, I know, 60% may not be very impressive but I'm a lightweight compared to you from what I see. For me 60% is a good distance considering I don't finish some games as I loose interest along the way and don't want to revisit. One example is "Metro Last Light". I wonder if you usually feel any interest in a game you got 100% on later on?

You see I do the opposite. If I didn't enjoy a game I'll try to get all the achievements so I can just forget it with a clear conscience. I haven't done that yet but I try. It's not easy. On the other, if I really liked a game I'll try to savor those achievements and stretch their consumption over the longest possible time.

First off i wasn't laughing at your 60% as such just that only 60% would drive me crazy, so sorry if i came acrooss as a douche there my bad.

No game comes to mind that has a great list because every game throws out the usual stuff just in varying degrees, but i liked the way they did the achievements in the first 2 Call of Juarez games. Certain games will have achievements that really are an achievement when you get them as they require a lot of skill, and are very satisfying when achieved.

I've noticed that most games will give out an easy 600g, 300g would be medium to get and the last 100g would be hard, sure it doesn't work like all the time, but to me with what i play it seems to :(

As for going back to games once i 100% them, well yes i do, games like Just Cause 3 & Forza Horizon 3 for examples i still play even though i'm long past getting 100% on them.

@i_p_daily: Hey, no worries, I know what you mean. I actually also think it's funny but it doesn't bother me - 60% is still an "I was here" statement. I don't think I can answer the original question with a "yes" though. Thanks for your thoughts on the overall picture. I guess some games retain replayability, achievements or not. That's a good thing. I haven't tried JC3 and FH3 yet but hopefully soon I'll register my 60% on those too.

I always enjoy trying to get as much out of an achievements as possible in a game that focus on single player only, I hate the mandatory MP achievement BS (Looking at you Halo!) I don't even bother trying to get any achievements in MP. This post also applies to PlayStation Trophies and Steam as well.

Also my Achievement score is: 23,968!

Half of the achievements for the first "Battlefield Bad Company" are online. I never got those. Is it even possible to get them nowadays?

No, I'm not a member yet. I should probably join. The only problem is it would make me want to do 100% and I just don't have the time for that kind of dedication, especially with behemoths like "Red Dead Redemption", "Skyrim" or "Fallout 4".

Yeah it probably will make you want to get a 100% in games, but the site has a lot more to offer you should at least check it out.

Nope. I only even look at the achievements for games I really really like and might actually try to get some... even then I almost never complete them all.

My GS is only 22,876 I never really went out of my way to get the achievements in games. I just played what I wanted, and if I got an achievement for something "cool, and if not, "no big deal." Now, after reading all these posts in this thread, I think I am going to start trying to more achievements haha. You guys with over 100k GS, kudos to you guys, I wish I could say that I had achieved that haha. When I go out tomorrow, I'm gonna stop by gamestop and see if they have a used copy of that avatar game you were all talking about haha.
