Play the games for a while through the HDD and then try to play them from the disc again. I bet then you notice a difference.
It's funny sometimes it seems like we don't miss/notice something until it's gone.

Well, because NHL only reads from the disc to load specifications for a match it isn't disc reading intensive.
As for Farcry...i've been playing the game for 28 hours now, just installed onto my HDD last night...no difference in loading at all...from what i noticed anyway...but then again i overlook a lot of what most people can pick out.
Yep, I've got:
- Oblivion
- Mass Effect
- Bio Shock
- Virtua Tennis 3
- Orange Box
- Skate
All installed on my lovely 120GB HDD!

Well, you're lucky cause you have a 120gb hdd...ive only got 20gb so i only have enough room to load 1 game.
And most of those game you have installed are very disc intensive reading games...especially Oblivion, Mass Effect and Orange Box so im not surprised you see a difference. Both the game i installed don't require a lot of disc reading so thats probably why its less noticable...or not noticable at all.
either way im jealous...i wish i had 120gb hdd :(

I was lucky, I got an Elite. If I can afford it I just get the biggest space I can. My MP3 has enough space to hold 5000 songs - I think I've got about 300 on there!
Now, I feel so grateful that I did get the Elite, it's proved its worth - mind you, when I bought it the shops were doing a special and it wasn't that much more expensive than the 60GB.

man you are a lucky guy I'm going to get an elite for christmas.
I heard if you install a game into the HDD then eventually your system begins to freeze..SO DONT DO IT
i've installed gears 2, fable 2, Call of duty 4, fallout 3, GTAIV, and Left 4 Dead. and i do see a lil better in terms of load times, but i did those mostly so my 360 wont heat up as much or make such a racket. KGB32nice list except for cod 4, that game does not really need to be installed unlest u havent passed it
