I want to know if what I've been hearing is true. Is it true that HD-DVD lost the fight with the Blu-ray disk format . If so what happens with the X360 HD-DVD expansion?

It's just going to be slowly out casted like VHS tapes were.

well it doesnt effect 360 the player will probably go away now if it were built in like alot of people wanted it would have been bad but MS must have forseen this they are really in a good spot they have managed to slip buy this gen without comitting to a next gen dvd format by the time this tech becomes widespread it will be time for another gen and they can add it then

it is completely dead read the press release from nishia if you bought one your screwed. Basically thier just expensive upconvertors now.

HD-DVD is the loser but like someone else said, they will be going on sale. I picked up my hd player add-on for $80 brand new a few months ago and I don't regret it. Now I'll just keep scooping up the HD dvds when they're at a good price on their way out.

I'm glad one format was decided upon, even if it was the pricier of the two.
