[QUOTE="JQuizzle757"]ya right man HD looks 100% better may be the dude did not have the HD cables in the TV!!!!!!!UltimateRAGEX
I do have the HD cables, I got em with my 360 because I got the 'premium' system. And I've only seen HD at the shops I never owned an HDTV.

I spent more money on my premium Xbox 360 and two games then I did on my 32" HDTV from Wal-Mart. I'm lower-middle class at best, sure as hell not rich.

Well, there you go.. 99% of the time the HDTV's in the storeare running in SD broadcast. And they usually never show 360 games in HD. Thanks a lot for wasting our time guy..

well it's not only that but the screen are never calibrated. they also boost the brightness and the contrast to counteract the ambient light from the show room floor. the color temperature of the tv is set to the coolest (blueish color) which lowers color accuracy but is beneficial in the store. some stores show hd feeds butsince the feed is split several dozen times, it looses quality and color banding (posterization) and artifacts appear on screen giving the consumer the impression that the tv isn't worth the high cost of ownership.

Yeah, for me HD was a lot better. When I was setting up the 360 for the first time (day after it came out), i was in too much of a rush to notice the TV-HDTV switch on the A/V cable, so i played in SD for about 3 months wondering why HD wouldnt work on my HDTV, until I eventually read the manual.

[QUOTE="DZBricktop"]If you think theres no difference between SD and HD then you. Are. Blind. Seriouly dude, gets your eyes checked out. I agree it looks fine on a SD, but theres NO WAY, it compares to High Def.76ers

I agree 100%. It's just so much crisper.

Its so much more crisper, and clear, plus you can read the text and games are being made for HDTV so...Get a HDTV, you can get a 22 inch monitor 720p for like $220 with a 1000:1 contrast ratio, if you cantafford that then you cant afford a 360 or PS3, but it would be nice to have spent the money I spent on my HDTV on games but whatever, its out of the way and I feel good about that and now im ready for all the games that are coming out this year.

SD rules, but there is an improvement with HD. However, the improvement isn't as great as some people make it to be.Benny_is_here

Ermm ok I don't see how it's worlds difference, coz I seen games and films in HD and they make barely any difference. And how can you not wanna go back to SD? It's alright to me. Gears looks really nice in SD, I think it's a waste of money to buy an HDTV.They are like 500 odd quid for a good size HD. UltimateRAGEX

no the difference is big! and HDTVs today are much much more affordable.Butsince you only play on a 21" TV maybe you should get an LCD monitor, you play HD and they are really cheap!

UltimateRAGEX
Affordable? Yeah affordable for the rich.

 you can get a 19' monitor for 200$ or less.. If you ahve to be rich to afford that, then how the hell did you buy a 360?

All I know is that I won't play with my 360 if it's not hooked up to my 32" HDTV or something better. Once you go HD, you'll forget SD ever existed :o

Umm he is from Britain so his SD is actually a lot better than SD here in Canada and the states. we use NTSC he uses PAL which is 576 lines of res so to him 576P to 720P isn't really that much better. Compared to 1080P well then there is no comparison. So his argument about how its not that much better is true compared to what he saw at his friends. Though his argument about how it should be for only the rich is false since he already owns a 360 which costs a lot of money.

I am going under the assumption that xboxs in Europe are designed to use PAL instead of NTSC.

Because I play my 360 on a standard definition 21' and it's fine. HDTVs cost way too much (like all cars) and there not that better than SD, I've even seen it on a 32'720p and made no difference. But I suppose if your rich then... why not.

So to my point, don't buy an HDTV becauseyou can buy a lot more games that way.

ur probably the person who still watches his movies on VHS because u didn't want to upgrade to a DVD player, dude technology changes plus in 2009 everything on TV will be broadcasted in Digital meaning HD, so u might as well get with the program now because u will have to later

That's exactly right. I mean....some people even think the horse and buggy is better than a car. YEAH RIGHT come on...horse and buggy and cars are exactly the same.

Same goes for writing on stone tablets as opposed to using a computer...i'm using a stone tablet to write this right now!

There is a difference - yet not a amazingly pronounce one ... it all depends on the size of the SD screen - on a small SD screen the system looks OK, yet on a large SD screen it looks horrible .... now, on a HD screen it will always look much sharper - so saying that there is no difference is simply stupid.
