Ā

No you can watch 720p and 1080i with Component. 1080p only with VGA cable.

i believe you need the better cables to get the true HD visuals....i have the premium 360 so i've always used the better cables....once its set up and ready to go...you'll never want to watch a regular movie again! HD DVD drive is an awesome add-on!

instead of starting a new thread and your question is answered can i ask something similiar.

If a game is advertised in 720p does it automatically upscale to 1080i (not P)if you have a TV that does not have 720p but only 480 and 1080i???? I dont care if it is slightly not as good looking as 720p I just want to make sure that all of the 360 games to upscale to 1080i.Ā  Same for the DVD's if you haveĀ the add on can I watch in 1080i??? as long as I have component cables

I'm pretty sure the games will upscale with component, but for dvd's you need the vga cable because of some sort of anti piracy regulations, (reason I wasn't sure if hd-dvd would work with component.)
