for people that have them should i spend the 200 and get the addon? im already using my sound systems optical out for my 360 so idk if i can have surround sound with the hd-dvd?

or should i get a nice up conversion dvd player?

yea the same optical out for the xbox will work for the hd dvd. You should wait heard for one week only the toshiba hd dvd player will be 100 dollars starting the 22nd I think a stand alone player not the 360 one.

Yeah, I'm kind've regretting my HD-DVD addon purchase. I don't use it as much as I expected because most high def movies are gonna be on blue ray. Your optical will be fine.

I love my hd add on. The whole format war is a little disapointing because theres some movies I want on blu ray that I can't get on my 360. I hope to have a PS3 soon so I won't have to worry about it anymore. Take a look at the titles available for HD-DVD and see if theres enough movies there to keep your interest. I think you'll be happy, I sure have.
