Hello gamespot. I am another Xbox 360 after my 4th Xbox has failed. But this one is a Jasper version arcade. My questions? 1. What are the chances of getting a RROD in the Jasper? I need specific stats along with reports if Jasper has gotten RROD. 2. Should I buy the Xbox 360 Slim? Is it worth it? Details. 3. Should I use a Stabilizer with my Xbox? i used to plug it in directly in the wall. If I'm missing something please help! Any further advice and assitance would be greatly appreciated to ensure my Jasper safety. :)

Jasper models didn't come out until September of '08. Why don't you just have it repaired by Microsoft?

I recently got a 360 Slim and I have yet to have any complaints about it. I know that doesn't answer your question exactly but I give a very positive rating back

I live in pakistan where I can't send it from there. the local guy says the power fuse or gpu (something like that) is blown or short circuited. Plus I have been getting it fixed for ages.

If you can afford it I would definitely get a slim.Less chance of failure, built in Wi-Fi and a 250GB HDD.

Not sure what you mean by stabilizer but I pressume you mean some kind of power surge protection. If so then yes definitely,I use surge protection on all my electrical devices that are important.

The only problem I have is the RROD. I'm glad that you are free of problems unlike me though.

I don't recommend the 4 gig unless you already have a hard drive because you will always have storage issues. Also you're not gonna be able to install your games to hard drive while you're playing them.

I think it's better to get the arcade and if you want the Hard drive then get the Elite. Or you could just use the hard drive you have right now. Anyway, the point is the slim and the new arcades are all made the same way i.e. with jaspers. While chances of RROD have gone down that is not to say that they cannot happen.
RROD means general hardware failure. On previous xboxes it was happening because of heat sync issues now microsoft has improved upon that.

I'm already on my 3rd and I got an arcade and am using it with the hard drive from the old one. Bottomline if you do not need wifi on your xbox then get the arcade or elite because the slim is practically the same thing except for the wifi.

The S model uses the Valhalla chipset. Completely different than the Jasper model.
