HELP!!!! Halo 3 split screen problem!!!

Okay so I have an HD-TV and I have my xbox set to widescreen. Every split screen game I play when it's split screen is in widescreen. In halo 3 in non-splitscreen mode the game is in widescreen but for some reason when I play split screen it switches to full screen mode.

its because you see more in a screen when playng split screen then a normal screen. if they stretched the screen anymore it would look somewhat disgusting. goto mlgpro.com to see what im talking about. i have the same problem dont worry

I got the same problem. Unless your tv has the ability to stretch the image more, there is nothing you can do.

bungie did it on purpose to maintain the aspect ratio of the screen when playing in splitscreen mode. There is a workaround but it requires a VGA adapter. set the screen resolution to 1024x768 or 1280x1024with the vga adapter. Then change the aspect ratio to normal. When you start splitscreen, the entire screen will be used but some things may look a little stretched. It would have been nice if bungie would have left this as an option but at least you can workarount it using the VGA adapter.
