help needed connecting 360 to monitor

I connected my 360 to monitor.Now problem is there is display but no sound.I use a VGA cable to connect to monitor.And my monitor doesnt has any audio inputs.So i connected my two red and white cables of audia in to a coupling which i then connected to my PC speakers but still no sound.

Can any1 help??

Do the speakers work with your PC? If so something may be hooked up wrong between your 360 and the speakers.

Try another coupling if you have one, if not here is one that is quite cheap. Also if you have a TV that has a PC input you may want to test audio on it, you could have a bad 360 VGA cable.

I already have that cable and i am using it.its a brand new VGA cable.
