I have just bought a HD ready (what does HD ready mean?) samsung 32" TV and I need some help linking it up to my 360 so that it is HD. I have bought a HDMI cable as well becauseapparentlyI needed one. Do I have to go on any settings to change the picture display to HD on the 360 or the TV? or will it just flick on when I plug the HDMI cable on?

Thanks

You must go into the display settings on the 360 for it to change, the system will not automatically change your settings for you.

^ Technically you're talking about the component cables. No you don't need an HDMI cable to get HD picture, you can do 1080P through component if you please.

Make sure that cables on the HD setting, go to your console settings on your XBOX Dashboard, then switch it to 720P,1080P,1080i, whatever your TV is capable of displaying. All three of those resoultions are HD. If your tv doesn't support 1080P, i'd suggest using 720P over 1080i, all look great in the end though. You probably wouldnt be able to tell the difference on any of those resolutions unless your TV is above 50 inches.
